Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Getting to think about 3.50 in the area is a break even for me anyway. To many vaiables.
Anyway our biggest customers, my wife's friend buys lots of eggs. I wanted more money couple years ago but was denied, wife. humm okay.
She take 10 and sometimes more 12 14 dozen month, man thats alot of eggs to eat for a family 4.
Than wife told me her girlfriend got another dog and needs more eggs.( see where this is going?) Anyway told my wife, either price is going up or I am getting rid of chickens and keep few for ourselves, no more egg sales. Price went up. Raised it twice in the last year or so.
Anyway I have now limited the amount her girlfriend gets, neighbors and others get eggs also.....:):):)

Hope everyone is having a great FFF!
We were dumped with 9" of the heavy
white stuff. Jim, it looks like you lucked
out with only 5".
The hens are laying well. I'm up to 8 doz
in the fridge and will start to share with
family and friends.

Stay Safe ... bigz

yeah. only 5" and it was so wet it looked more like 3". I was surprised to see how fast the roads cleared off,.
fff bluegills and french onion soup at Schulz's
they are as old as we are. I am holding my breath hoping they don't retire///or die
I don't miss the eggs from my chickens as much as I miss the poop,.
have a couple of perfectly ripe bananas , thinking of making banana bread.

Hopefully we will get some melting tomorrow. We were
dumped with almost 10" total snow in the last two storms
and cold enough to avoid much melting. The hens are
again, locked in the big coop until we have bare ground
showing. I know they are anxious to get out and about.

Stay Safe ... bigz

Well most snow is gone, spread some pelletized lime.Got 600 pounds. Couple fields I put sweet corn low PH. Could use 1000 lbs or 2 more, but my wallet says no.
Went to Blaines farm Fleet needed some batteries, also bought a chicken waterer kinda planning ahead. Checked see if any chicks, nope. I asked about them.
Last friday they had 2000 of them and I am guessing some of those preordered. They are not set up for 2000 chicks in display cases. They can handle a few hundred though. Anyway in 2 hours they ran out.
I guess I might have to get in line couple three weeks.

this last 5" is showing no sign of melting.
still hanging tight on the roofs. today is should melt some.
7 Toms fanning might not impress the ladies, but I sure would be impressed.
I finally made the banana bread, it was not quite
perfect,, I gave it ten extra minutes in the oven but there was still a raw spot in the center. I just scooped it out with a spoon and the rest was OK.
the venison sloppy joes was a complete success, though.
I used brat buns instead of hamburger buns,. makes a hearty sandwich,.
