Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

First a big welcome to anniemary and lem 47!!!! This thread is growing by the week. That's a good thing! fordmommy you've been busy. You get an atta girl! So far the second weekend in june at Hartman Creek State park would work for us. 6 miles west of Waupaca on Hwy 54. We'll gladly chip in for what ever is decided. Think it might be wise to reserve a shelter if we get enough people to come it wouldn't be that much and if someone can't afford it their more than welcome anyway. terriO your keeping track of the votes we're in and will donate to the cause no matter if we show or not but it would have to be something pretty drastic not to. I camped there about 20 some years ago and there wasn't a lot to remember. It rained the whole weekend and we spent most of it at JR's. Everything and everyone got soaked.

Had to go get eggs and play with the kids. 10 eggs today. I've been getting 9 and twice 8 in the last couple of weeks. The bulb must have burned out in my water heater today it was almost frozen. Peaches as always tried to get in the last word. Makes me laugh, everytime. It looks like I might have 2 broodies now. Thought that might happen. They were all asking about when they could go back outside and chase bugs. I lied and told them maybe tomorrow. But it seemed to placate them. Hope they forget by tomorrow morning. Now on to business. If we're able to pull off this get together it really should have a name and make it an annual thing. This is getting big already. Any ideas? I'll have a few beers this weekend and give my input. You don't have to ask. Chickenfest has been used. Come on people think. Now on to a more serious subject. The money handling. Someone has to give up their home address to accept the checks from attendies to cover the expenses. If someone in the area has a PO box that would be ideal but doubt if that's an option. This is getting out of hand now we need a treasurer what next a tax exempt number? Peaches for Prez! If it comes down to it I'd volunteer to do the deed. I'm about an hour away but I'll be a man of repose by then and would be able to go over and make the arrangments. In my spare time. HA! Just offering. Stay warm!

Well I PM-ed all the folks BYC from Wisconsin that have stopped in and posted one time or another except those that post almost daily. I told everyone to what our plans are with the meet and greet and asked if they wanted to participate to post here or PM me. Hopefully a few more will post a responce. I am so glad there wasn't a ton of pages to go through. Only 69! Only!

But it's done.

Dr Ha Ha. That idea is good about the PO Box. It wouldn't take much to set on up. What do others say?

Hi fellow cheeseheads!!
It's nice to see some people from the cheese state.

I'm new to chickens this year and I was wondering if any of you knew where some chicken swaps will be in Wisconsin this year? I've looked it up everywhere but I just can't find anything.
Thanks.

thanks for the PM about the planned get together, not sure what our schedule holds as of yet for that date-will have to look and see if it is open. I do read the posts daily but don't always have time to post anything. We are currently fostering 9 puppies(almost 8 weeks old) plus their mom dog and we just put together an incubator this past weekend and are giving it a try-we have a blue bantam hen(possible EE), we are incuabting 4 eggs from her and she hangs with Mort (our bantam rooster) who also might be an EE. We collected 5 eggs today -have a total of 7 hens.
