I was able to witness the ducks 'swimming' on the snow.... it is the funniest dang thing you would ever see.....

I am NOT looking forward to driving on 41 with all the road construction/traffic detours/idiot drivers........... and now add tons of snow!

I guess I will relish my 'last supper' with the family....

Me and Suzie are thinking the same thing. I hope we get warm enough weather to melt it away. If not then I'll be driving in and out in ruts of snow til it does.

Yeah...that thought crossed my mind! There are some REALLY great entries though; I dont think any of my hens have ever looked that mean! You are going to have a really hard time with judging!

I think it is warmer here now than it has been all day. Right around 35 or so...just got in from chores. The call ducks have 5 eggs now...no more cool green striped ones though...they all just look like little muskovy eggs to me. I wonder if they will sit on them? I hope so...

I got two more couturnix quail eggs--I am going to keep collecting then to boil for Easter to take along for my nieces and nephews. I think they will like them--they are so pretty! I wish I had known that he was a she and was laying eggs! When she came her head was bald so they were probably fertile! Oh well...lots of boys at SFs I hear...

GOt a book today all about chickens and it has the coop in it that you can win on some contest here...I think it might only tell how to order it though. I am going to read it and see if there is something I dont know...

Well, sweet dreams ever:weeeyone! I just might make me some popcorn to read with...I get to sleep in tomorrow!

Hey, that was a good episode! I remember that one! It's actually surprisingly difficult to get a satisfying explosion out of a lava lamp.

Well, we ended up with a few inches of the white stuff here in Baraboo. Would have been more if it hadn't transitioned from wet, fluffy snowflakes to nasty little ice balls halfway through the day. We had about 15 minutes of some pretty violent-sounding thunder-snow too. I haven't been to my mom's to check on all the birds since that Black Call drake escaped (they're being well cared for - with the price of gas right now, I can't go visit more than one or twice a week!), so I can only imagine how the poor birds are handling it. I'm sure my sissy Mallard drake is refusing to come out of his house.

At least I have all the babies in the brooder here at the house. I can't believe how big the little Call ducklings are getting already. The only birds I raised over the winter were Cochins, which take FOREVER to fill out and mature. I almost forgot how quick ducks grow!

Okay, off to have some dessert - Raspberry and White Chocolate Chip cookies.

Hey Terri- I kept the one I got from you and "blew" it out... more like two pin holes, (1 on either end) and shook/rinsed it mostly out with a bit of blowing.. more shaking than anything...
What is left is all dried up, if you would like it back, I can bring it over if you are still interested in Bucky the snake,,

Well I made my mostly famous venison tacos.. DH LOVES them.. I didn't have salsa, and thought I did.. so I improvised, I had some canned peeled whole tomatoes that I chopped up and added to half the venison.
I also added dried onions, and then lightly toasted flour tortillas, freshly chopped up red leaf lettuce and 4 cheese blend finely grated cheese.
As a side dish I made dirty rice..
After that cooled and we had eaten, I put the other half of the rice and the venison together for a meal next week.

Night all

Carol

Good morning everyone, Nice snow on the ground, in Wausau, It looks like we only got about 4 inches, roads are mostly clear, It will be gone in a day or 2. Nope I am not shoveling either.

Dr Ha ha, hope you got some sleep. How are the zippers this morning?
Jim, did you get much more snow than we did. I am glad we were missed by the 5-8 inches of wet snow.

David
