Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Evening All.... Walking stick Mazo Wow! That's what I'd call a real tool! Moose sounds Delish. My boss use to share his harvest with me...good stuff.

Thanks H&R....I need to figure out exactly how I'm going to seperate. Thanks for giving me some more ideas.

We stopped by the amish store today for some spices etc....and to my suprise they had the huge cans of sour pitted cherries in water for $6. They are 6lb 7oz in weight, and hold 12 cups. Should be enough for 3 to 4 pies. I had a big smile when i spotted those sacred ingredients LOL! Prolly go back and buy some more once we see what we really have here. ($35 per case)

Cute pup bigfam.....sorry about your lazy pullets...most do. The light will have them going in a week to ten days...my pullets are laying. Must be the all the long talks we have everyday. If someone would come around when I'm with the birds...they'd know I'm nuts.

Lessons for soap...that's a idea! Did you by chance take the hunters safety course with the kids bl4?

Today at shopko in C-ville they were giving away free christmas trees for non-perishable food donations given to Goodfellows. Now that's a good deal! Nice trees too! tis the season, eh!

Stay safe on the roads Doc, and again Best Wishes for L.

No Hunter's Safety course yet here..... strongly considering taking the CC classes that are offered though.

Bathroom is done! Thank goodness and I know you are all sick of hearing about it!

The Christmas Program today was very cute, and once again the police were there watching over everyone. It was really tough to watch the first graders get up and sing. All those baby faces...

I am thinking two scenarios with this snow; one: I will get stuck at home on Thursday morning, two: I will get stuck in Oshkosh Thursday night. I am planning on bringing an overnight bag just in case I have to 'rough it' someplace IF I make it anywhere.....

Off to bed with me..... I really need to quit staying up so late.

Good evening all! Just wanted to post some pics of our rooster Colt that we got from Cindlady-

He sure is a handsome boy, and so good with the ladies

Hi ALL

DrH... Yep, They all learned about the wet stuff at some time! LOL

Natas (one of my older cats) likes to come and watch it go down the hole! All of them have tried to get "turtle tea" out of the turtle tank and found out it's wet in there too! Usually head first!

Judge.... Thank You, Thank You, Thank You for the pics of Colt!

I kinda miss him! I figured he was way to nice for freezer camp! He looks very happy with his girls and I'm so glad he's good with the kids too! I thought his daddy was Prettyboy but seeing all that red/brown it might be George. In any case he's 1/2 Ameraucana.... still no clue who mom is
hu.gif
Funny to see him in the snow! Mine treat it like acid!

We did get about 1/2" of that stuff but it looks like we are right on the edge of the next round. How much we get of what will literally depend on how the wind blows.

Getting lots of cleaning done but also hoping young son gets better soon because he has to do the floors. Too hard on my back and hip. We're having our family get together on Sun. so I want to rent a carpet cleaner Thur. or Fri.
fl.gif
I should be ready... just hope him and a cleaner are!

Guess that's it.... Wish FT would check in.... Night All!

Good Brown Morning All! Cindy if you want more snow I'd share! The amount doesn't bother me so much but the wind is gonna be nasty! Have been thinking about FT too. ???? Taking L tomorrow morning in the storm. Good thing we have the Jeep! No back roads though and will leave a little early. cs hope your trip is a safe one and your chickens forgive you! They will once you feed them.

Glad you got the water out hope that solves your problem. Bf4me think Shadow is a perfect name! Shadow Cash. Too bad Johnny won't be at the reunions! Linn Bee good to hear from you! Sounds like a great dog! TO good luck on it being a farce. How's the wood heat feeling in your old bones?

Bl4 How about a pink gun? Think I'm gonna have to dig out the coveralls for this storm. Now talking 8-9 for here. Shipping off a doz eggs with L that leaves one egg for me so egg samich it is. Things to do......

Good Morning!

Nice Sunny Crisp day today - the calm before the storm... The forecast is for 8-11 inches here. I guess all I can do is hope that it's the nice fluffy kind and not the heavy wet stuff.

I put a 150w Compact Fluorescent Light inside the coop Sunday. I've got it set for 5-730am and then again from 430-700pm. I got one egg Monday and another one yesterday. The light seems to be working already - It's supposed to take a week or so to get their systems back into laying stage. The entire flock went through a relatively light molt this fall with the exception of one Production Red. She is in the middle of a heavy molt right now - I kinda feel sorry for her in this cold weather without her "winter coat." The rest of the girls are looking the best they have ever looked.

I sure miss Bert - my rooster. I think the girls really miss his crowing and chasing... I'll have to pick-up another Rooster this Spring or perhaps even earlier. It just doesn't seem like a proper flock without a Rooster in the mix. Hopefully, I will luck out with another friendly, goofy, happy-go-lucky one like Bert.

Speaking of Dogs, My little Molly - Who is a Dorkie (Daushound/Yorkshire Terrier mix) - Actually plays with the chickens. She will run around in a circle around one or two chickens and then drop and roll over on her back. As soon as one of the chickens comes over to investigate, she jumps up and takes off and it starts all over again... It's pretty funny to watch!

Have a Great Day, eh!!!

Morning all!

My chickens haven't molted yet and I hope they don't over the winter.

We saw snow coming from the sky here and it stayed a few minutes on the ground, but there is no evidence of the white stuff around here!

Tomski-what are the characteristics that make a Dorkie? Our dog is a terrier mix and we've been asked whether she has Dachsund as well. How do you know?

A Dorkie is a 50/50 cross between a Dachshund and a Yorkshire Terrier and is recognized by the American Canine Hybrid Club. She doesn't have the "skittish" small dog trait and is relatively laid back. They have the body of the Dachshund and the markings of the Terrier...

My Folks and I got ours from the same litter - they are sisters.

Interestingly enough, they looked almost identical when they were small puppies. Once they started to grow and fill out, they definitely took on different characteristics. While both are stubby legged with elongated bodies, mine has long hair - almost human like and DOESN'T Shed at all. My Parent's has shorter, curly hair and sheds just like a wiener dog. However, they both have the same kick back, loyal, silly and loving attitude. They both weigh around 25lbs and are the size of a small Beagle.
