Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Morning All! I see that the state of Wisconsin called for "state of emergency". I hope that you are all okay and with power!!!!!

We got enough of the white stuff here to cover the ground, but it was the frozen rain and wind that posed more issues for our area. My husband broke his windshield wiper this morning and a lot of people west of me lost power.

Considering that I am the first one on here, I'm thinking that some of you are also without power????

Good Morning -

Sorry for all of you without power - what a rotten time to go without power! Hope it's comes on real soon for ya's...

We ended up with about 8 inches. The Bottom 4" is hard packed and the top 4" is fluffy. Headed out now to get everything scraped and paths made to the chicken coop and wood house...

Have a great day!

Good White Morning All! L's surgery went very well! And they have her on a very good drip. I've had to tell her 4 times what they did. So far. Gotta love the Jeep! 45-50 on the way up and 50-60 on the way back except for passing slow traffic. Don't think they'll cut her loose until late today. Surprised they're only keeping her over night. WCc Hope you have heat by now! GR don't understand why anyone would "clean snow"? Glad you didn't get hurt and were still able to drive the car. FT glad you checked in!

Don't wait so long! If the horse getting a good home gave you the best feeling you've ever had it doesn't say much for ET.

Jim have thought of many ways to cure L none with a good outcome for her. Think you better get the Ollie finished or do you have a back up snow removal plan? Fiord? Kristip cute xmas pic! Tom i hear ya on the manly things. Really looking forward to taking over the duties while L recoups. Going to make a BIG breakfast before firing up the Fiord to "clean" the snow. Going to be nasty in this wind. Cindy I sure wasn't lonely in bed last night had 2 vibrating comforters. Sometime last night they woke me up after they found my chest hair and thought it was a patch of mama.

Taz is now joining in their reindeer games. Better get movin.

good morning,, no power outage here.. just been waiting for more people to wake up.. I'm all cuppa'd up.. have to go to F&F and get some special bolts and lock nuts for the reservoirs..

Glad L. is doing better.. some people sure do and say funny things when they are coming out of surgery.. I remember Annie trying to cut her "hamburger" with a knife and fork,, only it was a chocolate cookie..

My backup plan with the snow removal is PACK IT DOWN ..
If I can get the hydraulic oil into the pump, and even If I don't get the bucket on, I will be able to back blade the snow.. Our snow is quite clean, so that saves one step right there..

Ski, our snow is just the opposite of yours,, we had about 6 inches of the fluffy stuff and then a period of sort of freezing rain/snow.. then more fluff.. they say we got about 10 inches..

I heard that one inch of rain is equal to 8 inches of snow ?? If that is true, then that is good to help the drought..

Well, the end of the world did not happen.. Now I suppose I will have to pay for this new truck and pay off all my maxed out credit cards ??

The day is not over!! I was having a conversation on FB about the crappy coffee that my husband purchased recently (YUCK) and my sis-in-law chimed in and stated something about "even though we face a zombie apocalypse good coffee is a necessity". I agreed and replied" if the zombies do come, don't offer them bad coffee!"

Holy cold crapola this morning. Poor chickies, wind managed to rattle the cleaning door free and ripped it off its hinges. They were all still in their coop this morning, but looked a little miffed at the draft up their undercarriages. Great day for it, going to be so much fun trying to rebuild a door in this weather with numb hands/cumbersome gloves. Got the door barricaded back into place with 2x4s for now.

Got my chick TVs scrubbed out this am and rebedded for some chicks. Sure hope some hatch! First batch due NYD with staggering hatches after that.

Gotta run, hubby's family coming up for a Christmas get together. :)

Happy onset of winter, everyone.

Morning all!
Well, we are still here! I guess now I have to have a birthday tomorrow....Here I was planning on never having one again...Maybe if I say that my birthday was on the Mayan Calendar then I can get away with never having one again?!?!?!?....It will be my 13th annual 29th birthday....if I was using the Gregorian calendar that is....

Sorry I was a way for a bit. DH was having a few chest pains but luckily they were normal for the "trauma" his heart went through. Of course this all happened when he was in between traveling for sales meetings and having to do webinars, video shots and such. But DH is perfectly fine thought.
Also, last week my BFF from Cali was out with her DH for his companies sales meeting. So I got to spend the week with her! YEAH!! The even better news is that she and her DH will be moving to Wisco!!!! Long story involving a new job with her and her DH transfering with his company but the even best news is that she will be only about 45 mins away and she will be working for Nutrea! So She and my DH will be crossing paths too!!

Other then that, the critters came through the storm well. The Girls had their lights on all night since I was not going to go out and turn them off during the storm. They seemed non the worse for wear. The dogs however have decided that unless the really really really need to pee then they are staying inside...under the covers...
Our neighbor was super awesome this morning and surprised us by using his Bobcat to blow out driveway.

Well, that is about it....now that the madness here has passed I can catch up here and with my house work that got shoved to the side.....
Have a terrific day....It sure is beautiful out today!! LOVE THE SNOW!!!!!

Well... Taking a little break. Got the Driveway & Paths to woodshed and coop all plowed out. Boy, the hydraulic winch I installed on my ATV to lift and lower the blade is a god send. My left shoulder was killing me from having to lift the blade every time I backed up. Now I can drink beer and plow at the same time!

I'm in to have a cup of coffee and then I'm gonna plow out a path around the back yard and into the woods for the chickens... They don't like the snow but I noticed they will walk on the paths... LOL

I also need to put up the Xmas Tree and get the bedrooms upstairs all squared away for the company coming on Sunday.

Got two eggs today!!! I think the light therapy is working :D

I am so glad L is doing better!

We did not get as much snow as predicted. We sure had a ton of rain, sleet and ice. The wind was a bit of an issue. I had a hard time getting the coop door open with all the ice over it. I am going to have to do something about that. They have a pop door I probably should keep open during the night just in case it gets really bad. I will just figure something out. It has been a few years since I had to battle ice on the door, I forgot what I did before.Well I am off to get more Christmas cleaning done. I hate dusting too.
