Afternoon
frow.gif
just stopping in for a little bit. We ended up with around 18 inches of white stuff- went out last night to help with snow removal and got home about 2:30 pm today so we were out for more than 15 hours- lots of snow and heavy along with strong winds.
DH has to go out early tomorrow morning to finish up- by the time we reached noon we were all done in. Will be making supper and then going to bed- my eyes no longer want to stay open.

Have a good evening!

hello people,,, I have my tractor going.. I plowed the driveway.. just used the back blade,, too cold to put the front bucket on.. but the hydraulics do work..

There is a distinct disadvantage to having all your birds being so tame.. try to work without them crawling all over the place.. None of them are even the least bit scared when I am screaming at them to GET OUT OF HERE !!! they hide under the tractor so I can't kick them.. Even the "skittish" peacock ignored me.. beeitches..

I had to make a new brace for one of the reservoir tanks..

the shifter was still frozen,, I suppose I will have to change the oil after all.. however it did loosen up after I jiggled the shifting lever a bit.. at least I did not have to apply heat this time.. and the choke was frozen again, also.. but I found the key spot to put the heat gun and it thawed in just a few minutes.. I now know it is in the cable and not the choke in the carb.. I can live with it until it warms up a bit..

I took a couple of pictures of the hydraulic system I built for Ollie..

..

bottom picture shows the new brace from the tank tothe loader frame..

the second picture is looking straight down at the pump and the shaft going under the radiator.

as usual, you can click on each picture to enlarge..

the hose connecting the two tanks is just a transfer hose for the hydraulic fluid from the return tank on the left to the companion tank on the right..

WOW!!!
Very nice!!

Well we muddled through the night, we went to bed around 10 or earlier, the temp was 57, I had candles going in old beer glasses.
DH slept in the big ole recliner. The dogs and I slept on the pull out couch (too small for all four of us).
Woke up around 6am and it was 47. We went out side and there were HUGE drifts across the driveway,
DH called his work to say "I am not coming in, we aren't plowed out and the road is barely plowed":
We decided to go to Joan's for breakfast and warm up, got the dogs coats on, our coats, snow pants, boots, gloves.. well you get the picture.
Truck got stuck in a drift in the driveway, we dug her out and were ready to go when a local farmer drove by with his tractor and had a back blade on it,
he kindly plowed the front half the driveway so we made it over there.
I got the horses, chickens and ducks fed, we headed back home to check the parakeets, I had put a pair candles that were smaller near them with foil reflecting
the heat towards them. They were fine.
So after getting home, finding the electric on finally, sat down relaxed for a few then recalled an ad I saw for hay so called on that.
Turns out they are just down the road from me, so went and got hay and straw.
Got it into the barn, fed the horses and changed blankets.
Now I am home, tired, warm and ready for bed...
and its only 6:20...

Only 4 people in the ditch this morning, so not too bad.

Tomorrow is going to be a beeotch. We have 4 people working to get all the loads and orders filled for over the Christmas break...... nice job on scheduling that one!

Anyhoo, time to hit the hay here. Gotta get up bright and early.

Good PM, DD#1 spent the whole day here.. she took care of gramma so I could work outside..
she is not one to sit around, so she made the cowboy beans for me.. then did the dishes, and took the hanging light fixtures down and washed them.. I keep trying to get her to clean my garage,, she knows better than to tackle that one..

Annie sold two cockatiels to a lady from Gr Bay.. she drove here to pick them up today. Her DD's B'day today..

we are having the annual Christmas get together on Sunday with Annie's side of the family.. Annie has to work Christmas Eve.. there will be no dieting for me, Sunday night.. We have been doing this for so many years, I can't even remember how it got started.. Lots of good food,, Pot luck..
even the food is the same each year.. My cowboy beans, Annie's thin sliced roast beef in gravy on buns, herring, chili, cold cuts and cheeses, crackers and chips and assorted dips, DD#2 hot salsa dip, and MIL always made pistachio salad especially for me.. but since she died, SIL Suzie makes it..

I think the tradition would have ended when MIL died, but I sort of wouldn't let it.. well, more than sort of.. other than funerals, this is the only time they get together as a family..

Good evening...long day--very interesting though! MXM gave me a call and needed cheering up so she said she would come over. Got a call and she was in the ditch! So I cleared the truck off and drove to where she was (not far from my place) and we got hooked up and I pulled her out. Then we had a great visit and headed to the feed mill. We got the food we needed and then she helped me get it all into my barn! WHat a great friend!

We got the neighbor's driveway scooped out...her sister was stuck on the road with a baby in the car! DH went over to see if he could help. I guess they had called a bunch of plow places and no one could get to them tonight yet! I was glad he went to help.

We have 5% propane in our tank...they didnt come today so we have to wait until Monday...heck, it's just cooking gas, hot water and the dryer...I guess I get a break from cooking, cleaning and laundry!

Good Cold Morning all! 6* here. Brr. L's PB was low so they kept her for another night. They took her off the heavy drugs and it was near near normal when I left yesterday. So will go get her today. Guess I didn't put enough wood in the stove last night 63 in here this AM. Waaay better than 47! Glad you have heat now Carol! TO good job on saving MXM and your neighbor's DD and baby. Sure glad we didn't get all the snow that so many of you did! Had around 8" here. Only got stuck on the ice twice, used a logging chain under the tires to get out. Thanks ODrH for the first chuckle of the day! "Undercarriage"

Don't know why but it hit my funny bone. Tom glad you have Hyd on your plow. When clutching and shifting the Fiord I tend to splay my left leg and my hip kills me for a week. Try to make a conscience effort not to do so but it's so close to the shifter it's hard not to do it.
