Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hello! I am back from my shopping trip to Menards. I had to shop...no eggs on the counter (ones I want to hatch anyway) but I felt that shopping was in order. I just could NOT sit here with all these crabby people home!
So I got another flash light...this one is 170 Lumens, I am betting it will be a great candling light...oh yeah, I dont ever really candle my eggs...unless they are suspect. HA! I dont have an incubator either...I think I need to remedy that however.
So DH went out to check the charging system on my car (it is fine) but he said they put the wrong battery in it. He tried to get the cover on and it wouldnt fit. So now he went out in a rage to F&F to complain and get the "right" battery and get the $10 install fee refunded. Of course he did not take my suggestion to CALL FIRST to see if they indeed DO have the right battery...MEN! Of course my favorite guys on here wouldnt go off half cocked that way would they? (she says sweetly)

OK--I have to go outside and feed the critters before dark...M's didnt have ANY headlights! I am kinda worried about that cause I have to work on Wednesday again and I do chores at 5AM and it is DARK! Good thing I got that bright bright flashlight! Now if I can only keep track of it! It is a little one again...maybe I should have spent 10 bucks more and got the one that was 20" long! THAT would be hard to lose! (no comments from the p-nut gallery please)

Later all...TerriOwhatohwhatcanIhaveforsupper?EGGSEGGSEGGSEGGSEGGSyupthat'stheticket

Warm evening all,

Just got done cleaning out the coop , adding fresh water and feed before tucking the girls in for the night. Still am getting 2 eggs from the seabrights. The japanese banties, still aren't prooducing but at least I can enter the coop without all h breaking loose. Gonna be a cold few days, hope they will be ok. I have a small heater in their ( i broke down) so if it is 35 degrees they should be fine, don't think I will be opening up the outdoor run door for a Sunday and Monday.

Ju Ju the new kitten is fitting in well, terrorizing the chows and her older sisters. The semester ended today,

Prolly no takers here but, I just want to remind everyone of the free ice fishing weekend that the DNR provided for everyone....no license needed for sat and sun this weekend. They do this every summer, but decided that folks could give fishing on the ice a try also with no license.

Just saw that the date for the chicken bash is the last weekend before school is out-tough weekend to get away!!!!

Still trying to decide if I should add some heat to my coop this weekend-just enough to take the edge off the -10 to -20 that is predicted

I did put a heat lamp in one corner of the coop. It's away from their preferred roost, but available if they are getting too cold (and incidentally over the nest boxes...maybe allowing me to retrieve eggs before they freeze).

Was thinking maybe I'd locate a local auction and take DS2 to see it, but darned if I can find a darn thing googling.

How does one locate the local livestock auctions?
Try looking up EQUITY auctions they have several locations and may be near you. The one near me has sheep and goat auctions every 3rd Saturday of the month and a small animal swap the same morning. It is south of monroe.

Not much exciting here tonight. Went out for a fish fry for my uncle's birthday & ate entirely too much! Must sleep now. Sweet dreams, all!

Oh, Ang. You know you're gonna set up a heater or bulb anyway, so just go do it.
