Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Yeah, we could do it TO, but you'd have to round up all the wild chooks, too. :p I don't do rafter duty. LOL

Oy, trying to figure out if the boys have passed on their viral nastiness or not. Whole body hurts, haven't been able to get warm all day and it looked like it was actually somewhat pleasant out today.

Off to find another blanket, check that fire and see if I can stuff more wood in there.

TO,,how about some popcorn!
not sure you need a tested flock for those quail eggs, but you do need some licensing and a commercial type kitchen to sell any egg for resale

the Edgewood gals run a non-stop ad on CL,my original Am came from them indirectly (not a quality bird),,I have also heard quite a few stories about their stock,,none of them good stories I might mention.....and the stories came from some experienced poultry folks around here,,,,,,just sayin'

not much going on here tonight, checking in and out of a movie

CONGRATS Big Fam!!!!!!! I hope the job turns out just as you had hoped! Now shall we tell the people the truth? That you Weren't wearing anything but that flannel? I tell you the looks she was getting in Starbucks that day!

BabyLady that cake is ADORABLE! Love it! Must've been fun! Didja use Wilton candy colors to get those colors right?

Sorry to hear about that meatie TO. She sure didn't look good when you found her.

Before it got dark this evening I went out and drilled some holes in my chicken tractor. And it wasn't solely because I switched medications recently.... No actually I've been reading in the forums about the importance of ventilation and I'm sure i don't have enough. Since I wasn't prepared to build a cupola tonight I drilled some holes under the chicken tractor eaves (such as they are). So hopefully any breezes will go over their heads when they're settled down on their roost. Those birds are impressing the heck out of me with the sub zero tempuatures they are handling. It's not like it's warmer in the coop than it is outside. One of the Andalusian's does have frostbite on the tip of her straggly comb. *sigh*

Hens&Roos ! How are you guys? We were wondering just today when those birdies that we got from you were hatched! Hope y'all are well. Tell Doug the Christmas tree on the roof was vicimizedby the wind and has flopped over in a most pitiful way  Thought he'd get a good laugh out of that.

I'm a co-leader for my 5 year old girl's Girl Scout troop! We took them to a girl scout dance last night and had way too much fun. If you ever have a chance to go to a dance with a 5 year old, GO! @ What a blast.

Good Night all! Be well!

Thanks for the suggestion Dan---I think I will take it since DH is eating Herring and crackers--popcorn it is! LOL!
Got the toilet fixer part and it is finally not running and running and running! I am glad I do not have to turn the water on and off!
OK--off to make the popcorn (thanks Dan) and no, I wil not expect you to do rafter duty Hurley! There is not a chance in H3ll that I could round up all my birds,,,,nope, not a chance!
Nighties! TerriOsigningoffwithyetanotherbowlofthepoppedcorn

MXM I used white and dark chocolate and whatever candy coloring Hobby Lobby has (not the gel paste). I used the pan I baked the cake in for the base of the background. The rest is too long to describe so I'll have to tell you at the bash! The cake was a huge hit, the mommy-to-be LOVED it! Of course, it tasted great too!

Carol, you getting enough Vit D????

I am looking forward to being a lazy bum tomorrow..... another busy week awaits me on Monday so I am going to attempt to do as little as possible tomorrow..................

Long day today..

BFam..again congrats!!

Thanks for the info on the testing. I read the information and file it away in my brain somewhere. It gets locked behind some door that I keep passing by.

As far as shipping in this weather. ..
I reciently recieved 4 dozen eggs..some of them were from the contest the other ones are the silkies from catdance

Catdance eggs I asked for a hand warmer and got 2 dozen eggs

I ordered 12 cochin and a variety of Marans and speckled sussex were addded as a bonus..no warmer

On day 7 I tossed 9 that were clear and I was not sure about 14. Maran eggs are hard to see.

I have checked today and tossed another 8. 6 clear and two blood rings.

I checked the eggs for fertility and no bullseyes on 17 eggs. I am not sure if it has to do with the weather or not. I have 4 Orpington eggs in and they are all fertile. These are even pullet eggs.

I have one maybe cochin..and two maybe Marans. I am hoping the rest of the silkie eggs finish with no more problems. I have 10 fertle ones..woo hoo. I made a decision I am not doing anything till day 18.

Beautiful cake..very talented and artistic

I was going to say something else but forgot
