Goo dmorning--what crappy news for the beginning of the day Denise! You would think that delivery folks would realize that there are LIVE things in the box ans would take it inside?! I dont understand how that could happen...when I was doing "boxing buddies" through the mail I had a crab that I sent around. His traveling box said "Fragile: Crab inside!!" My PO brought it right off the truck so it wouldnt "freeze." They even called me to come and pick it up! We all had a good laugh when I explained the game and told them it was a stuffed toy crab! Maybe the MNapls PO was just "too busy?" Are they going to replace them for you? I wonder just how many perish with shipping?

Today is kinda sunny, a little snowy and plenty cold! I still havent gone out...waaay sleepy today. I must have slept poorly again...I could go back up and sleep more! I have to find the name of an exotics vet to take Clarence the tortoise to. He is still not eating and has lost much weight in the past few months. Wish I knew what was ailing him?

Well, that's just sad, sick, depressing news. What stinking hatchery would even ship live chicks in this nast?

Monday morning are my Downton Abbey time! lol

After everyone is off to work and school I settle in with a cuppa and watch. Are you watching the current season?

It's hatching!!! Not just a little hole- it is cracking all around the top of the egg! My DS3 says, "come out baby. You can do it. It's me." So sweet.
This suspense is killing me....

good aft, well I got the straw off of the little and onto the big trailer.. that was a cold job this morning.. I had to change gloves 3 times because wet gloves do not keep your hands warm..

I met up with UndaDan and his friend and we went and picked up a total of 54 drying racks.. I could get only 18 on my trailer.. the trailer could have handled more, but we couldn't reach high enough to stack any more on.. they are in perfect shape,, have 1 x 3 cedar frames.. I would like to go get some more for a fence around the new garden..I would make it so that I could remove it for plowing and dragging..

OK. I have gone all week without a nap.. a little one while I warm up should do me fine right about now..

we got our first egg from one of the red bourbon turkey hens today..

Dan, as soon as you guys got to the road, the brown hens showed up.. par for the course, eh ?

I agree with Jim! We had a customer order 100 chicks for today. I had to go pick then up at the PO. I cannot believe they were all alive. They packed 4 extra. They came from Sunnyside though, so not in transit to long.
