Seriously... IF Terri pickled those chicken feet and made it her White Elephant gift... The best and worst Bash gift there! A lot of trading to dump that one off!

Yes JJ... We agree with you (said in a patronizing sing song voice...). :D

nice.

Maybe that's why I feel at home here.

The sarcasm.

In the event that we actually purchase our house in the next few months....does anyone have space and willing to chicken sit? I normally wouldn't ask but they are illegal here and need not be here while we are getting an inspection and closing the deal.

I could probably find a isolated pen for them.. how many ?? I am waaay up nort' near Wausau,,

and yes JJ, we agree with you,, (in a sing song slightly sarcastic voice..)

I just set a deal to pick up a BB Red Tom turkey on Sunday..(tomorrow)// I am pretty sure I bought a royal palm hen from this place about 5 years ago.. I think the timing is just right.. my two BBR hens are just starting to sit on a nest..

I picked up 20 drying racks today.. It was supposed to be warm, but it was just as cold as the last time I picked some up.. I think I will leave them on the trailer until I am ready to use them in the garden..

we have a shrubbery rake that we retrieve eggs with.. It looks like a child's rake and is designed for raking around the base of shrubs like lilacs etc.... F&F has them..

I ran into Chillin Wit My Chiks last night.. at a wedding decoration party.. her DD is getting hitched today..

I laid down with the DD6 to have a rest before she went to a birthday party....guess who took the nap. ;)
The thought of eating chew feet gets a big EEEEEEWWWWWWwwwwwww! Yuck! (Said like the kids when they're expected to eat something healthy)

My grandmother's family is from Poland. I do remember eating duck blood soup...I don't recall hating it....but the thought of it now grosses me out.

Were expecting some nasty weather down here...you can tell too...wildlife has been hanging around the feeders heavily today...my chickens are really quiet...neighbors cows are up by our house...where they always go when there's bad weather. Don't need a weather man ...just pay attention to the critters...they'll tell you.

Need to clean the baby chicks...man they smell now...ugh! Just like men....their cute...smelly and leave their s$$$ laying around all over the place....but we still love 'em. :)

this is a stack of racks.. (20 of them) those are 1x4 cedar frames..

this is the puppy;..all 55 pounds of him.. Dora weighs 78 pounds..
this is as close as I could get.. you would think I was sneaking up on him with a gun..

Yeah...I guess they wouldnt let you get the house if they knew they were selling to "chicken outlaws!"

I would be happy to chicken sit....and I am closer than Jim for sure! I will be setting up some new pens as soon as this snow gets gone! I picked up a bunch of 14' dog panel sides...I am so keyed to get them up!

THat's funny that you use the little rake too Jim! Great minds...Only prob is that my little coop is too short for me to get that rake inside and then to the eggs! LOL! I use it in the Blue Ams pen (hey they are from you; maybe they are the ones that told me to use it) and I keep it right in there on a special little edge! The other thing those rakes are good for is to clean the mats in a horse trailer or the bed of your pick-up if you have the ridged plastic bedliner. Pulls all the hay etc out of the grooves really nice!

That South wind is really cold today! I thought it was supposed to be kinda nice outside today. It is fine if you are out of that wind I guess...My friend just called me and wants me to come to her place and give her a ride down to take care of her critters...I guess her car wouldnt turn off last night. Good think I was planning on hitting the grocery store this weekend...not todaythough--I feel not good.

Here are those other pics from butcher day--finally got somebody to send them to my computer!

Here is the team--minus me! Peggy, JJ in back and Terry and Jerry in the front. Some of you may remember them from the bash a couple years ago. We were at their place.

Here are two of the smallest birds. The one on the right ended up dressing out at #2.6 of some thing like that. I find it so odd that they were all together and some just didnt grow!
OK--back to my lunch...and then to save a friend...again! LOL!
