I have no idea how much snow we got, but I do know that our snow plow guy broke the transmission while plowing our driveway. I kept looking out at him and wondering why he was moving so oddly. DH and I figured he got stuck or something so we went out. Nope broke.

Deli-I hope that you get through all of the snow so you can get your chicks.

Bbp-sorry to hear about the shed collapse.

Safe travels to all.

LET IT SNOW!!!!!!

Good evening all :) im not doing any shoveling untill the snow is done! I trudged right through it. Shoved doors open for chores. And thats that! Moved all 3 bunnies into the barn. Probably wont even give anybody the choice to go out tomorrow... oh the wind!

Delish, thx for some more pics!!! Im very sad to learn it will be even longer! :'( ive been so excited. Is It very easy to see the difference in blr and splash chicks? I hope my babies look like the ones in the pic you pm'd. Very nice tail on the one I could see. And ive read it is a lot of work to keep the lacing in the rear. From what I can see, the one does have it! If you have more, id love to see. Also hubby would like some pics of the sl :) did I say see a lot? Lol

Chickenscrarch, hows mr gibs? Still at the digging? Or doing good?

Big fam, hopen you're kiddos start to feel better soon!!!!!!!!!!

Cuties-I closed up his trench and gave him a flannel blankie (thinking he was burrowing because he was cold). I also added more pine shavings and moved his stuff a bit to be more protected from weather. I expect that he'll continue as it is instinctive for him to do.

Good good :) does he have a hutch there? We put straw in boxes hubby built. Just big enough for a rabbit. Small hole. Same concept as a dog house... ive heard a bit of controversy on it. Some think there gets to be too much moisture inside. But I just make sure I change the straw regularily. Ylu could do a little research to see what you think.

I get cardboard boxes all the time at work so I am bringing them home full of shredded paper for him. He lives with the chickens. The coop has 2 stories with an indoor run lined with hardware cloth. I have pictures in my profile. Mr. Gibs goes wherever he feels like and the girls stay out of his way...unless food is involved.

Made it home, though it took an extra hour. Ugly driving, very slick. Got home to over knee high snow covering the driveway, so beached the truck and walked up the drive to the house. Relieved hubby from kiddos to open the drive and retrieve said truck. Think he nailed my extension cord to the coop as the circuit breaker got tripped and would only stay on 10 seconds before tripping again. So, the layer pen will have to have hand carried water if it freezes over. At least got power running again out to the growout shed for the little'ens.

This is March, right?

Off to thaw out.

Hi all-
sorry to hear about your moms shed, bbp
unk- what is a vole, and what does LGD stand for? Cute dog!
Delish- love the pics!
Sorry to hear about all the snow problems, but not sorry to say it missed us this time. I am so tired of snow, and there are piles here 15ft high. Should be a terrible mess when it all melts

Took DD6 to the Dr. today. She stayed home yesterday from school, and was still not well today, so I figured it was time to take her in. Good thing- she has strep. Amoxycillan 2x/daily for 10 days. Yuck.
All the animals are doing well, except I know that the little horse is going stir crazy. The fenced in area where him, the goats and chickens is so full of snow, there isn't much room to roam. He got out of the pen the other day when I was feeding them and took off like a shot. It was so sweet and beautiful to see him running. He is so small, I always laugh when I see him running like that. Good thing he is a good boy and came running back down the hill when I called him. Scared me though- it was icy and I thought he was going to slip. Can't wait for spring. I am going to set up an electric fence and shelter for him and the goats on the grass. They should be happier, and maybe some of the grass will grow back for the chickens.
Got the incubator back out. Can't wait to set eggs this weekend!
Good night all
