Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Unkadan - Are you talking Muck boots? I get them for 10% over cost. So my son wears the fieldblazers as his winter boots. My mom also has 2 pair and loves them. I tried to get my daughter the kids winter boots, but she didn't like the way they fit.

you dont need a drill, just cut 2 slits in the cap, criss cross small slits, slide it on to small knob adjust as needed good luck
I must have missed something
I believe he is referring to when someone (Judge?) was trying to adjust the temp. knob on her incubator & was getting frustrated from overturning. She saw a post about screwing a milk cap to it to have more precise control? At least that is what I thought he was referring to.

Congrats on the hatch so far, Hurley, and you really have some beautiful birds there.

Oh CC, you are so smart.. Now I see what he was saying,, Yes, that might work..
but Judge,, if you are reading this.. do the knob,, but don't adjust anything..

I will take a look at one of mine and see if I can come up with a simple solution for the adjuster.. I am thinking of just a 2 inch long, straight handle..

If you can find an old radio dial knob with a set screw in the side..

I don't understand why the manufacturers don't supply such a dial handle.. by now they must know that there is such a problem..

Quote: I think this was to me because I mentioned that I wanted to put a hole in the milk cap to use to better adjust the incubator. Turns out I could just push a screw through it, but I made the hole too big, and didn't have another. Oh well- I got the temp right finally without, but I think next time I will try that again. I think it would really help when making adjustments.

Hi All!

CS.... At a year old, she could be a late bloomer

Check her vent and see if it looks like it is getting a bit more prominent. I wish it were fresh goat cheese. I got it from the store, the "fresh" type (soft) not bad.

Congrats on the Hatch!

Well, the wood guy came with a load of wood. Decided the ground was too soft to take it to the back so he dumped it where my son parks (he was at work). I was going to make sure there was a clear path through the garage to cart wood to the stove. Opened the door from the house, stepped down and went "splash"!

We had over an inch of water in there! DH and young son got home about the same time and took down "the dam" that channeling the water to the garage and away from ditch where it should go! It's all good now... I hope. The water is down quite a bit anyway. All around the coops and pens is mud. I almost lost a boot a few times.. got to remember... roll the foot out of the mud when you step. Water is coming in the door on the one side of the coop. Thank goodness it's on the side with the cement floor.

Guess that's it....Night All.

Good Morning Everyone!

ODrH those Iowa Blues are are very cool lookin birds! Can see where they need to be added to the list. Cindy hope you can get that water under control! TO hope your lil goaties survive. I know how hard it is to raise them. Looks like we didn't get the 3-8 plus they were talkin about. More like less than 2.

Kissy is recouping from surgery. She cried the whole time she was at the vet. She got quiet when she heard my voice then really bellowed. She hasn't felt like playing much with Toby so Taz is catchin H. Crabby B! Dave sounds like all you can do is worry. Revenge can be yours. Just live long enough to be a pain in the A to your children.

Dan congrats on the new boots. Think Cliff Claven had something to say about that. Comfortable shoes. Will decide if I'll plow or not after I go out to get the Jeep out for L. But definitely gonna slap some paint. Cause it deserves it.

Good morning everyone! Wow there is a lot of water- went for a ride with DH and the kids yesterday, and was there ever the ponds in the fields. i hope it all absorbs, or there will definitely be trouble when planting season comes around. I don't even want to go down to the coop this morning. I am sure it is a mess.
Hurley- your birds are beautiful!
Delisha- where are those pictures? I want to see babies

Checked the incubator this morning- 97.2 and 73% humidity! Ugh- I shouldn't check it. I should just leave it and what will be will be. I just keep reminding myself that the eggs did really well last time. and I had no hygrometer, and a crappy thermometer.
The designer is coming this morning to measure out my existing kitchen, so we can move ahead with the remodel. Hoping he can give us some new ideas. Kind of excited!
Have a great day!

Good morning everyone..long time no see. Sounds like everyone is busy with their bators. Maybe next year....I'm still drowning in baby ducks/chicks. Our pigeons now laid an egg..so I'll pretend I'm part of the easter hatch. ;-)

Muck boots. I am seen wearing mine all the time. I LOVE them. Ugliest thing ever...but comfy and warm. Only complaint..they suck on ice. I have to wade through 5.or more inches of water to get to the truck...Id never get out of my house if I didn't have them.

We have this little orange thing in the garage...looks like a boombox...has jumper cables...air compressor...but its also like a mini generator as you can plug things into...think I paid like 100.00...worth every penny. Was just thinking for those of you wih bators and possible electricity failures thru spring storms....might be worth locating yours and making sure charged up...or buying one. Like I said..very handy item. I have it always with us when we go camping...has come in handy.

Hope all goes well for everyone!
