I have about 20 chicks due this weekend..I doubt I am going any where...
My DH said we need to order more silkie eggs after the incubator empties..sheesh..he is an enabler
Your son can have most of the chick I have here if he wants. I think I am keeping the white, buff and paint if they are females.....other wise... the rest are for sale. I have a beautiful male white that is about 3 weeks old. I am keeping him.

Good evening! Kids are gone...AAAHHHH. We made the cookies which turned out great, and then went to MXM's and delivered her birthday cookies! Me and the kids sang Happy Birthday to her. Her daughter and the ones I brought had a blast destroying her bedroom. THEN THEY CLEANED IT UP! MXM said come any time!

So it looks like H&R and I are heading to visit Deli on Thursday! Whoo--Hooo! Sounds fun to me. I am glad that it is lighter now in the morning cause we are meeting at EIGHT AM!!!! I will need to get up early for chores for sure! We will have a good time! Hopefully I wont be too sore and exhausted from dog class!

Heading out for chores now...at least the rain/snow has stopped! I hope it's not too slippery!

Nighties! TerriOhopingtheskyisclearsowecanseethatdarncomet

(PS) Unkadan YOU ARE SICK!

Cute chicks...and what in the world are those weird chickens....wow.

Cc....I will try to remember to take a photo of it and get you the brand....there are several kinds....you want the kind that is a power pack car starter. it's basically a car battery with all these things it can do. I just one of those common garage things that you sometimes forget you have and can use. Walmart has them for like 84.00

I'm worried about a couple do my little ducklings. I was flipping bedding...always in my qwest to keep everyone dry and clean....I lost my footing and the pitch fork nipped two ducks and a chick. I looked them over good....but my little ducks are limping. I'm so mad. I struggle with these ****** legs to begin with (old car accident injury...etc). Just really upsets me when I was being so very careful and stuff like that happens.

I'm new at the pigeon world. Never ever have had them...though I have raised many other kinds of birds. I love how gentle they really are. I think it's neat...seeing the mom and dad changing guard of watching over their little egg. My kids are super excited about it. They were given to us...so I wasn't really prepared for them. Trying to figure out how to make them a flight run this spring. I can't let them fly freely...we just have way to many retail hawks and a family of eagles that live in our neighborhood. They wouldn't last a week flying freely. What do some of you pigeon people do? Ours are just pets....but I want to make sure they can fly decently....so looking for suggestions.

Alright...not sure when I'll have the iPad again....hope everyone's hatches go well and will be looking forward to seeing more chick pics

My older son gets the pleasure of driving us. Beaver dam is maybe an hour away. Not sure as I rarely go anyplace, but it's nice to have a guilted chauffeur. Oh he's a good boy and will do almost anything for his mother. Anything except take care of the animals. He did enough of that when he lived at home. Alex saw the pics and you know what his response was. MINE. I think he better start doing many many more chores.

I will be getting up early tomorrow and going to w w w w w work.. first real job in 7 years.. I am anxious to get started.. Now just watch,, once I start on this job, the weather will get real nice and I will be wishing I could be working on my peacock pen..

UnkaDan,, those women fought the GQF incubators, no? I was referring to the one that somebody listed the ad from C List , I think it was in Milwaukee.. prolly CC ? It was not a Sportsman..
If I didn't have all these GQF I would have jumped on that one..

This year I might switch the 1202 and bator #3.. I used the 1202 for a hatcher,, I think the other one would do a better job.. and I could make the hatching trays deeper with covers over them so not so many chicks can crawl out.. and I can achieve higher hum% with the #3 for goose hatching..

I have enough hatching trays, but I do not have any covers..

I am thinking of using the metal trays and flipping one upside down on the other for the cover..
It will take a bit of modifying , but I think I have it figured out..

John... I'm not actually very worried about the eggs. Power was out for about an hr and a half. I don't think they're going to up and quit on that. While the temps didn't stay where they should, the styrofoam does hold heat decently.

As to the power pole assailant, I swear it was a guy with reddish hair and a bunch of traps in the back of the truck. Huh.... Sounds like Mazo. Whoever it was also took out our phone line for almost 24 hrs...

Littlest child is still sick. No early childhood today, and he's not going tomorrow either. Jeepers it's been a week and 2 days that someone has been home sick. Enough already.

I better sleep now (or try to) got the 3 yr old in bed hereand he flips around so much he ends up sideways taking up the whole queen size bed and I'm clinging for dear life on the edge!
