Ooh, this helps. I have an OE covered by a Wellie roo, tossed a half dozen of her eggs in teh bator. So I should get a darker olive then? I am hoping for a dark olive egg with speckling - trying to make a Camo Egger!

Good SNOWY

Friday everyone! Suppose to get 3-6" more today. REALLY? Everyone is crabby about winter. It's going to be a muddy, muddy Spring....if it ever gets here, that is.

TO - like your goats. We have Fainters. Should start having babies first week of April. Can't wait.

Nice eggs, everyone!

Good morning,, I slept in this morning,, felt good.. now I feel like doing something constructive..

Yes,, the man did pay me for my one day of work..

Judge, when you opened your bator, you left all the humidity out.. don't adjust anything ..let the bator level out for awhile.. I would have PM'd you, but I see you are off line..

It is snowing here, but the temp isn't too bad,, I might go out and finish putting all the vertical stiffeners on the peacock pen..

I got the muffler put back on the Blazer.. it sounds a lot better.. new pipes from the front to the back..

I got an order for 20 more guinea keets.. no eggs yesterday.. they are so smart,, when you start taking their eggs, they move their hiding place. I will be penning them up soon, so then they can't pull that stunt anymore..

cuppa is gone,, gotta go water birds..

Good morning--I slept in too. AAHHH felt very good and I think my cold is abating!

Either that or the cold meds havent warn off yet from last night! Coffee tastes a little better today so maybe?
We have rescheduled out Visit with Vicky. (that sounds formal doesnt it?) Anyway, I will be telling the kids' Mom that this one is written in stone! It is so hard to agree on a day to get a few people together! I feel bad for Vicky that she had to eat all that soup on her own...

I need to go to Wally today and pick up a prescription...trying to decide if I want to wait and take the kids with or go this morning. We are taking DD27 to the airport today for her flight to the Dominican Republic. She is having a vacation with her college roomie. I am taking care of her ghecko. I hope I dont kill it.

Guess we wont see Jim for the rest of the day now...you know how long his "going to town" trips last!

He will probably stop for breakfast and more coffee, then the hardware store then....and come home without the gas for Ollie! Oh wait, that's what I end up doing! Gotta have a checklist for sure!

Nothing much happening here...so nice to have a quiet morning. DH is heading back from Nebraska today. He messaged me and said he saw a robin this morning! Maybe spring IS on the way? I havent seen any here yet.

Judge--dont you have a fan in that bator? That equalizes the temps in the whole thing. Dont worry...doesnt help anyway! "It is what it is." My favorite saying lately! Let it regulate for a few hours and then maybe turn it down a tad?

Better get off of here and do some straightening, I have been trying to reorganize this kitchen so everything has a place. Not an easy task when you have so much "essential" cooking stuff! If I ever get another house I am having a kitchen WING!
Have a fantastic day! TerriOsigningofftoorganize

Hubby asked me to ask you. Do you know where you can/if get inner tubes for the big tires on a tractor? The tractor we inherited has tires with tons of tread but the back ones have some nasty cracks and now one of them has started leaking. We really don't have the big bucks to put new tires on right now and really need this thing operational since it won't quit snowing

TO~ so glad to hear you are feeling better

Dr H~ I agree with using superglue. You can actually buy suture glue on line but really, it's basically the same thing.

Update on my little hen, Crockpot~they played all day in the "spa" yesterday after their freezy night and all were fine. I did see just a bit of blood on her bum when I fed them in the evening but nothing like before and she hadn't laid for a couple days. Well, TADAH! She laid an egg this morning AND it had a good, hard shell and NO BLOOD!
celebrate.gif
Still watching her close of course but it looks like it may have not been life threatening after all. I just wish she would STOP laying for a while (or forever, I wouldn't care)

CROCKPOT my sweety

This is broody butt (aka Fricassee) and Noodle, the chick she hatched out from the neighbor's egg last fall.

This is everyone having a "spa day" yesterday in my greenhouse. This WAS a bale of barley straw sitting on the greenhouse rack. Much of it is now on the greenhouse floor and Broody Butt and Noodle are up on the rack on what's left window watching the world go by outside. You can't tell thru all the scattered straw but I removed blocks from the floor under the side shelves and that's where the girls take their dust bathes in the winter (and fertilize the soil for when I plant tomatoes in there in the spring, removing the shelves when they get bigger and tying them up to the frames)
They had so much fun yesterday I had trouble getting them to come in the coop for supper!

This is SOUP, the queen of the coop. Can't you tell by her strut?

We have fainters too. So disappointed that they were fixed before we got them. We were already at the farm with the kids, so we couldn't say no. We had picked up a pygmy/fainting cross little girl that morning, and we were looking forward to breeding them. The little girl died this fall for some reason, but the boys are the sweetest things. So happy we have them.

and my "chicken friendly cat" was observed by me this morning licking the inside of a broken egg in the nesting cabinet.  I don't know if he broke it himself or happened upon it, but I do not like it one bit.

What did they do to old yeller for eatin eggs?

I dont remember eggs. But they shot him for having rabies.
I remember someone sayin a cpl weeks ago; hollow them out and add pepper. Maybe it was dan.
