Hopped in the car this morn to take Ethan to school, almost backed into a 2-ft drift covering the whole driveway. So we walked. Very nasty wind, I wore ski goggles doing chores.

Maybe if we all get mad enough the heat will melt this infernal snow???

THe shells come off in one piece! Really. Start the water boiling and lower eggs in one at a time with a spoon. When all are added and water is boiling again set your timer for 14 minutes. WHen timer rings, pour off hot water and run cold water over eggs. Boils them perfectly every time and they peel like a dream. Try it!
I tried this method last night to make egg salad sandwiches and OMG it DOES work like a dream! The best my eggs have ever peeled.

Morning all........
Cold windy, nasty January day OOps I mean March...............yuck what some crap, I about froze my fingers off doing frozen waters this morning seeing as how my stupid heater bird water decided to die in mid January....even the dogs outside heated bowl had a film of ice over where the wind hits it....argggggggg so much for spring coming early this year !!! seems to me last spring was cold then hot then crappy then super hot....hope this isn't a remake......cuz winter needs to be over I have things to do outside !!!!!!!!! I'm quite sick of inside, and it needs to be over 30 for me to clean my coop and right now we are looking at a mess in there...........GGGGGrrrrrrrr

Best of luck and great things to BigFam, and Halden, hope they get everything just right ...sounds like they are doing a good job at planning things out, much better to always have a plan then to wing it....

Cind........ hope your Turkeys are doing better soon, it really isn't a hurry I have to build them a coop anyway, but thought I would ask around before hand so by the time I need them I know who has them......so pipe up if ya have Midget whites...........about my boarders yes they do help, but these are my projects and Jeff The Hubby works at Miller and works quite abit he has been doing all the overtime he can get so they can get caught up, plus Ann has 2 little ones she chases all day and isn't so handy with much else, though she is masking chili today will see how it turns out. I'm making Pumpkin cookies, and crab and ranch dip for veggi's, crackers and snacks for tonight. Gonna have a movie night I think. Its too darn cold to do much else.......

TerriO........... that deer roper is hilarious, sent it to Adam right away so he could get a good laugh too.......... the pic. of the swap meet looks like you all were a bit cold.........but nice to see faces so I know who I'm yacking at........LOL remeber a couple from the baqsh last year but we didn't get to meet everyone, maybe this year........

So has anyone used the brinsea Octagon 20, I'm thinking it will be very similar to the little mini I had but wondering if anyone had any trouble with theirs ,so I know what to watch out for......the little one had ya add water right away, and some people say not too until day 15? but mine most hatched last year with little trouble, but what a stinky wet mess to clean up after, and the humidity was so dewy they took forever to dry off.......so will see I guess, Wish it would get here so I can start collecting eggs, and wish mother nature would having these little fits.........and warm up, so I can seperate my roos to the outside pens.
So anyway I better get to making stuff to do for today.........later all.....Kim

All the best to you, BigFam! I will keep you in my prayers!

Ditto for me BigFam. Halden will be OK--because we said so! (and the prayers dont hurt either)

So good morning friends! The sun is shining! By the reports on here I am in no hurry to go outside! I thought my big buck would make it to nice weather after his last episode; but he was dead yesterday! :( His brother died a few weeks back...They were going into their 11th summer. Some nice boys. I posted a pic of them last year (I think) laying under the trees in the pasture--the ones with the really long horns. I should see if I can find it again to repost. I do have a buckling but he is crossed with the nigerian doe I had one year so not as spectacular looking for sure!
I let my parrot out of his cage this morning and he is climbing all around. I am keeping an eye on his because he keeps checking out the woodwork and the curtains!

Not too much going on here...kids arent coming until 3 so perhaps I will check the finances and see about going to the grocery store...I need more spring greens for the tortoises. I think I had them growing in the salad garden by this time last year...BBRRR weatherman said down to 8 again tonight! Vickie I hate to think what it is like up by you! You seem to be the cold spot for sure.
I think I need to go to the Domes in Milw or K&W Greenery to get some of that hot Earth smell. My hands are itching to dig in the dirt...maybe we will start some flowers in the house today. THat might solve the problem!

OK--I need to head out. I am sure everything needs food and water. I am so glad that I decided to heat many watering stations this year! Well, I am glad when I do chores...not so glad when the electric bill arrives!

Have a great day--stay warm! TerriOthinkingaboutbrunch
