Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

the dogs are flock guardian dogs.. ironic, isn't it ? he is eating the things he is supposed to protect.. he actually is doing a good job of it,, nothing ELSE is eating them..

......jimtryingtowipethatimageoutofhishead.......

Now that is funny...........Jim it is nice to look at the pos. side of things....

Hurley those eggs are sure cute!!

sooo cold here today...uugghh...Dear Mother Nature... You win!!!

We have 2 labs. One of them would be fine with the chickens, the other is a year old and lays waiting by the coop... just in case... one escapes. ;-) I think if she had a shock collar and we were outside all the time she would be fine, but she is supposed to be a "bird dog" for hunting..ssssoooooo not sure what kind of a bird dog she would be if I shocked her everytime she went after a bird...

Off to Madison in the morning for the State youth wrestling Tournament! Always a good time... although finding "chicken sitters" seems to be alot easier when it is warmer outside!!!!!

Another Chilly Evening Here....great pictures Cind....handgun enthusiats just gotta love the J frame S&W....

Went to FF for a new sump pump. We use it for the wash machine and waterer softner. I'm hoping the pvc line isn't froze that is under 3 feet of snow. It's always something for homeowners, eh! I wish the washer was on the main floor. Maybe in the next house I build LOL!

I think I'd lose on purpose if I got to go to DQ, H&R.....just kidding of course.

Bear roast with taters and carrots for supper...I'll prolly make some more venzun jerkey for the Bash.

Talked to the neighbor today...they caught 3 bobcats in their traps by accident....they took pictures to verify them and documented the locations....more ammunition for the consevation congress in the Spring to try and convince them to move the open zone south. Kinda like pulling teeth.

The point 2012 Blackale tastes good on a chilly evening with a warm fire.

Flocksalot....what does the rh in the 20's run without water the first 18? Any problems with shrinkwrapping?

Be Safe...bigz

Conservation congress, giving your input and not being heard! I'm glad they got them documented. I have heard of too many, and one is too many just ending up in hole. Otter are the same way down here, many catch them accidental and float them instead of dealing with the DNR. And then when you call the DNR for assistance, they are "too busy" to help, but then drill you on how you caught it like you did something wrong. I have finally established a good enough relationship with our area wardens that I feel I can call them, or so I think! lol My favorite that I read in a piece put out by the DNR was asking anyone with the knowledge of a badger to give them a call because the UW is doing a major study on them. Well we did call and never got a return call and then when we caught it they did not want it and the DNR was unwilling to help us relocate it or remove it from the trap...Thank goodness for some friends who have cojones the size of bowling balls, we were able to remove it and release it to a very nice piece of prairie restoration land.

I really hope the minnow rule gets changed again, I hate buying minnows when I can just seine them!

k i'm done,

Joe

Hi All! I'm new to this site and currently don't own any chickens. Hopefully one day we will. We live in the city of Hudson, WI (so the twin cities). I cannot find the city ordinance's where it says they are not allowed - though I know it's there. I'm hoping to find or start a group to get this changed. But in the mean time, does anyone have any tips on where I can find the code so I can specifically read about what it says??

Thanks so much!
Jen

Ugh I had 3 link already pasted in responce to your question, then my internet timed out and I lot it all. Basically here is a news article that leads me to believe chickens are allowed considering they allow roosters as long as they are kept from crowing early in the morning. You may want to cantact the Town Board Chair Jeff Johnson to confirm this. Oh and I found this on google and dont live anywhere near there so I would confirm the info. Also there was another link I found that made it sound like you needed a 1/2 acres to have the chickens but another link made it sound like a regualr lot. Good luck.
