from the ordinance:
it would appear they eat horses in Hudson!!!!!!

Here's a couple of pictures of my turkey that seems to have "morphed" into a Tom. All the turkeys were suppose to be the same age when I got them in the fall. They were suppose to be about 7 months old when I got them.

Tom in the back showing off, the mystery bird (see the small black patch) and the hen up front budding in, because "it's all about her" the little diva!

Mystery bird. I have seen it "displaying" but at the time it did not have the black feathers on the chest.

TO.... if your still interested I would love a dark egg layer like a Marans? Or what else you got for trade?

Cooking along nicely. Only have 2 girls left to lay. Got 36 eggs yesterday from 2 girls (combined). The eggs that were laid first are growing nicely. (Yep, snake eggs get larger throughout incubation.) Got another 6 weeks or so to go before pippies.

Hi all- quick question. Can someone tell me the difference between a golden sex link, a red sex link and production red? I know that different hatcheries have different names for the same birds. I've seen red stars, red comets, cinnamon queens... are these the same as sex links? I've seen reviews on here for all of them.

She looks just like my girls. And yes she is most definitely a SHE.

Awesome!! So, how can I tell if it got frozen?, other then it obviously being solid, it was just very cold, brought it in and it's in a bowl on my kitchen counter. I'd like to gather a few before I set them.

Good question. I picked up my hen's egg today and it was very cold, but not cracked. So I think it might be ok. i suppose if it doesn't develop there's our answer.

I want pictures of the snakes......

jbher, I will TRY to get the info to you by this weekend (send me a PM to remind me). If they have a farmers market in Hurley, I think I would start there and see how many people are interested (set up a booth or something). Get a sign-up sheet with emails and get your fb page going. Broadcast the FACTS about poultry in town to dispel the myths. Write articles in the paper, send letters to the editor.... whatever you can think of to get the word out.

Another not-so-fun day at work today..... I feel like the tension is getting worse instead of better.....
