Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Somebody tell me...where did the sun go?? All of my motivation has fled. I did morning chores (how come Mama always eats last?), read during lunch, and have been trying to decide what I should do next...there's so much on the to-do list and I'm so drowsy today that I'm not sure what to tackle next.

Can someone tell me when/where the bash is? I always seem to let it slip by, and though I'm not on very often I do want to hang out with you guys!

Glad to hear everyone is doing well, I'm jealous of everyone and their 'bators! I wish, and the kids do, too--my five year old asked two days ago if we could get the 'heating box' out and make some babies.

I use ACV, too. We've got a rubber tub for a waterer but I was tempted to try the toilet tank idea I saw somewhere...just hang it on the outside of the coop and put a warmer in there in the winter...a project for another day!

dcba flock, I am so so sorry to hear about your loss. So devastating.

Well...I'm off to get...something....done.

him. Fed the girls some eggs mixed into their mash today, they were most appreciative. Gobbled down in a hurry.
Such a sweet little man :) my son is 3 he loves the turkeys across the road! Keedokes, we have never hatched chickies here. The kiddies always beg... my daughter even (I think it was her) hid an egg in the barn last summer, sooo sweet.

Here are the girls out enjoying the yard today

Here they are cleaned up (thanks Delisha for comments on 180 degrees for de-feathering, it really helped)
Notice the first one (far left) had no hard egg found internally like the other two.

This is chicken one (preformed internal eggs)

Chicken two

Chicken three

So, I guess we either had three layers, 2 layers with hard shells and one only soft shell, OR the third hadn't started laying yet and was about too! Oh well, the mystery is over...no sterile birds.
The positive....We're ready for more birds

Nice job on the butchering. They look really good. I bet they are going to be tasty. Feather removal does not have to be a chore. I am glad it worked for you. I really like the wiping off of feathers verses plucking. Much faster! They look like they were also very healthy. Nice internal egg development and no peritonitis's present. Wonderful!!

Good snowy morning! (and we saw a tree full of robins yesterday!) The bird kind...

CC--good thing you were the one getting tipsy...also good that if you got bombed you wouldnt fall down!
Hey now! I'm not the imbiber (this time). You hear about someone getting wasted and automatically think of me or what? What's up with that?

Idk CC... Don't you have a bag of sangria strapped to the back of your chair with the straw up over your shoulder set up? Or was that a jar of booze cherries with a straw in it?
