I have an incubator full of Blue English orp mutts

I got my new chicks from delisha today!!!!

I got 8 total: 3 black orpington, 2 americauna (1 splash and 1 black), 3 blr wyandottes (2 splash and 1 blue). Hopefully they are all girls, but we did our best!

The 3 orpingtons are 4 weeks old and are outside in the coop with Mr. Gibs. The others are just babies (3 days I think). I initially had them in the garage, but I felt that it was too drafty and cold in there, so I moved them into the basement.

They are sleeping, so I'll have to get pics of them later.

I figured you would put them in the house tonight.

Apparently I have an incubator full of mutts too. I have my lavs in a breeding pen. One got out one day and went missing for 3 days. I found her at a time when I was testing for fertility. Apparently she had a rendevous with my Iowa Blue because all the eggs that were actually fertile are hatching out black. So my lavender roo was not doing his job. I'm glad I went and got another one.

My dad raised show and production rabbits for as long as I can remember. Up until his last couple of years. And you know I never heard that joke. My dad would have got a kick outta that one. Brought back alot of good memories, Funny how someone you dont even know can say a little something and BINGO all these memories come to the for front. thanx for the trigger Jim. you still got me grinning with that joke and the memories! This certainly has been an interesting spring for egg production. I hope it isn't something in the feed. First, lots of fart eggs, then the other extreme; jumbo!

Didn't someone else have one not long ago? Was it Judge?





I can't believe I didn't hear her from inside the house. Poor girl!

Ahhhhhhh I ain t afraid of good ole Jim. or I don t think I am them good ole boys usually put on a good old gruff showing But there usually alot nicer then they let on!!!
