BTW JIM~~~~I WANT PICS OF YOUR PROJECT AS I AM LOOKING FOR IDEAS TO WINTERIZE OUR RUN!!!
my husband's "man cave" aka HIS garage and cleaning there of. He won't even let me go in there!!! Last summer I cleaned out enough room so we could get the car in there again and he hasn't let me in there since!!!

He did state just yesterday, however, that HE was going to start cleaning out the garage BY HIMSELF, sllllllllooowwwlllyyyy.

I am sure this sudden revelation that it was getting too deep in there has to do with our getting our new car (an Escape) last week. This is a whole other story.

Remember I mentioned that he decided to sell the old plow truck leaving us only with our little (less than 20,000 miles on it) Focus and that I tried to tell him it might not be the best idea? WELL, HE came to the painful realization that we now had NOTHING he could even get a sheet of plywood home in!!!! Thus, we now have a new Escape, WITH a tow package. At least we got a really great deal on the trade in and lots of rebates from Ford so the hit wasn't too bad.

Noooooo, I did NOT say "I told you so"....... but I think that had something to do with him putting $400 into my savings account for the new desktop I said we would be needing one of these days because this one is getting really, really old (which it is)

Wow, did I get the work done yesterday, even sunburnt my nose a little, AND my ladies actually ventured out of the greenhouse, (even Soup and I didn't have to carry her!!!) to check out the honest to goodness ground that appeared where we have been shoveling their garden pen!!! They even pecked at the grass not even caring that it was still brown, it was grass!!! Oh, and talking about spoiled chooks, when is giving them catfood spoiling them, hmmmmm? I mix a little in with their evening meal once or twice a week during winter. I did read however, that you have to be careful not to give them too much/too often (which made me back off on the volume). Something about you could cause "water belly" if you overdo it. This came from some kind of Avian Vet. After reading that I started sprouting beans, alfalfa and broccoli seeds for them instead, which they get as their morning treat. Boy, can those piggies go thru that stuff!!!

HELLO TO ALL THE NEWBIES AND VISITORS!!!

Got my coop all shoveled out yesterday (love that vinyl floor!) and new bedding and DE put in. I wish I could give it a good scrub down but just not warm enough up here for that yet. Hubby is afraid I have too much time on my hands because I have been re-designing the entire coop!!! Thinking of extending the nest boxes out the side to give more floor space and adding another pop hole thru the opposite wall so I can split the coop/run in half if I need too. We do have babies coming you know!!!

Poor hubby. I keep it up and he's going to UN-RETIRE just to get a rest!!!

making a big turkey just for hubby and I for Easter. No body wants to venture up to "snow country" for a visit. Had it in the freezer and it needed to be cooked up so looks like a lot of turkey based dinners in our future!!!!. Except Monday. Roadtrip to my Onc in GreenBay then so he will HAVE to buy me dinner

Hope things get better for you babylady; so sad people have to be that way.

I am still waiting and hoping my eggs will hatch. No tapping, no pips. Day 20......

Good morning! I was rudely awakened by DD asking WAS THERE A REASON WE HAVE NO HOT WATER? Man I hate getting woken up like that! I remembered that DS told me there was something wrong with the oven cause he had been trying to cook a pizza for a half hour and it was still frozen that day. HMMMM? A correlation? Of course I thought I better go out and check the status of the propane...yeah, forgot to do that! Son cooked the pizza on the grill and the stovetop worked fine so I guess I thought nothing more about it. Good news is that when I canned the delivery company when they opened the driver will be in this area so he can fill us. (I am so glad we have a small tank so they can squeeze us in!) I was not going to pay the $75 trip charge for an emergency fill! Propane is $$$ enough without that too! Of course if we had no hot water or cooking gas all weekend I would have to endure "the wrath of the KING!" all weekend too! So I am doubly glad that the Co could make it today! I really have to mark it on the calendar to check it monthly or something!
HOWEVER--I DID get the garbage out on time this week!

Jim, I think you might have taken the words right out of my mouth...except I was thinking that the guy was the one spoiled...he got rid of an old truck and got a nice new car...and didnt even get told "I told you so!"

I hope the person from Utah comes back on and sees your message Amy! I think that Hurley has bantam blue Ams. THey arent the Wheaten variety though. I have one of her little guys and is he ever cute!

Today I am meeting JJ and fam at the Children's Museum in Madison. I am excited because I havent been to the new location. I sure hope the kids got a good night's sleep last night! I want them to have fun and not be whiney, cause then I wont have any fun!

Well, I guess I better get going on stuff here so I am ready to leave when the kids arrive. Gotta check the sap buckets too. When I tapped one of the trees yesterday there was a waterfall of sap dripping!

Oh yeah, Amy...that potato fair is going on again this year. IT is at the Concord town Hall. Unfortunately I have to work that day...

I knew working on Saturdays was going to be a problem! Were you able to save any of those potatoes from your harvest last year? I didnt save any here...
