zeke... If your going to the bash or if we can get them here, I would like 2 or 3 australops! I'd even like a cross if the cross was with a decent layer. I lost my Ozzy roo. He was Gold comet (a PR) and Australop cross. He was suppose to sir a flock of layers this year.

Older son has been bugging me to let the turkeys out to range so today I let the Trio out. One of the first things the Tom did was brake up a cock fight! LOL He marched right over and walked right between them. I think it freaked them both out! LOL I think one of the hens thinks she's just a large chicken, she spent most of the time in the coop.
One of the guinea hens I lost last fall came back! I don't know if she'll stay, but she spent the night in the coop!

Hey Everyone! I went on last night and picked up where I left off and had to leave again. You people are so great! Thank you all so much for your condolences! TO thanks for updating and the phone call really touched me.

And thanks B&S for the very nice card!

You guys are the bestest! Going over Thurs and meet my sis's to start sorting things. Then my step bro will come up from Chi later in the month and we'll all finalize things. Think going through the pictures will be the hardest. Enough of that. I'm 30 pages behind and not about to try and catch up. Sounds like judge and Amy had a bad experience with hatching.

It happens unfortunately, keep trying! I'm very pleased with the hens they really love the longer days and am getting a half doz or better per day average. Started hauling the wood pile I bought from good neighbor Donny. Have 2 outside walls filled in, the third wall is from the wood I made last year. Looks nice to have wood in there. Felt good to be out in the sunshine and fresh air!

Going to see how many trailer loads I can get today before the rain starts. Chores first. Going to be busy working on the house and dealing with the folks things so I'll be sporatic on checking in. Thanks again everyone!

I'm up way too early this morning for a day that I have nothing but grocery shopping to do. I got onto thinking about my mom driving up to see my brother in Viroqua and wanted to text her so that I could meet up with her on 94 to give her his girl scout cookies.
Took care of the babies already this morning. It was time for fresh litter.
Now I'm sitting down with my cuppa....aaahhhh.

I went to the swap in Waupaca this am (YAAAAAAWN!) and it was a very small gathering - mostly bunnies (some were free). I didn't see anything for me and my little flock. Maybe the next one!

Didn't see Zeke either. Well, I'm off to open the store!

Good morning all--just waiting for my visitors here...someone is coming for goose eggs, Kristip to drop a birdie, someone to trade chicken eggs for delicious cheese curds from way up North and another person...but I cant remember why they are coming!
I have to get out and do chores and start my sap boiling! The new tree I tapped is a gusher for sure! I only have a gallon pail on it and I have to go out there multiple times a day or it is overflowing! I think I will switch the big bucket to that tree. Hey Doug and Cheryl, JJ or anyone else....this is probably the last day for gathering right? It looks like my tree is starting to bud a bit...how long can I wait?

I will finally get my chickens moved this weekend!

The gates seem to be nearly unfrozen. Unfortunately I will be moving them into messy quarters; the insides of the coops have frozen bottoms....oh well, I might try and work on that too, I am kind of messed up though because of having to travel to Appleton to my brother's place for Easter. It is nice to see everyone but the 4 hours in the car is crap when I could be doing something constructive! Maybe I will bring my cross stitch along and work on that. That's about the only time I get to work on it anymore! Once a year on Easter!

We had a great time at the Children's Museum with JJ and his fam. We saw MXM had her family including the
grandparents there! The kids were totally wound up and hardly ate any dinner. Got them in bed at 9:30. I thought they werent going to go to sleep easily but after a chapter in our book they went right to sleep. I think they were exhausted!

Well I better get outside and get that sap started. Nice to see you again DrH! Keep stackin' that wood!
COngrats on all the little babies! My hen still hasnt ventured out with hers. I finally got her down from the ceiling and she is just marching the babies around in the milk house.
