Well here's what I know about white Marans so far

They are pearl white



half have feathered shanks




and they are not camera shy





Neither are the quail




Speaking of quail... TerriO I am bringing the first 4 with me Saturday to go home with you.

The other 5 are not travel ready just yet.

FT: What company are you using? Are there other companies available? You shouldn't have to put up with that-you are the customer! Argh!!!! And an extra fee to come out to fill it?

THis is a usual thing Angie--when we ran out this winter it was a $75 trip charge too. That is actually a pretty good one...the other company charges $150! We only have a 100gal tank here so it is easy to forget and let too much time go by. It is just for hot water, dryer and cooking though.

Only getting 150gallons this time... Sure hope it warms up soon. $1.49 a gallon..... They said it should get cheaper in June July. Just what I want to be doing in July.... Paying for HEAT !!!

At least you are using propane...our heat is oil and last time it was $3.89/gal! Now THAT is a big heat bill! No wonder I keep it kinda chilly in here!

I use a wood boiler & heat exchanger for the water, so have not used LP for some time.

If your primary is LP, then get on schedule with them so you don't get hit with trip charges.

when I do fill the tank, it is always at season lows price for LP, and delivery when they will be in the area.

Of course if this global warming continues, I'll be out cutting more firewood soon.

TerriO: wow! We have a 500 gal and are set up on a schedule-guess we have been lucky with not running out. Also-its funny when you talk about your friend Judi (my name-and not the common spelling)

DH is glued to the TV till Masters are done. I doubt he will get any thing done. I usually like golf, but, this time of year I do not. I am putting the eggs in the hatcher today. I do not have much hope. Most of the Marans eggs feel so heavy. I have a feeling very few of them are fertile. I am glad I put 4 Orpington eggs in so I will have some chicks.

The rain and snow is quite challenging. I think I have to go out and dig a drainage ditch today.

Good luck to everyone having weather issues. Flashlights, hand warmers, extra wood, blankets, water, charged cells phones, and hopefully a working battery operated sump pump/gas generator.

Our propane Company offers each Fall for People to purchase at the summer price and bank propane with them for the winter. Driver comes each month and tops off the tank in the winter and like maybe twice in the 5 months of non furnace weather. We never run out or forget. The trick is we accept one of those credit cards with a 0% for 6 months introductary offers to put the propane on and then have the winter to pay it off. I like playing with the house's money.

Terry you need to grab that parrot like I did and show him you are not afraid of him. Thumb under chin with fingers on the sides to prevent him from turning and biting you. Once he knows you aren't afraid of him you will be higher in the flock than him.

Or maybe he just misses me holding him and kissing him and wants me to come back and show you how he needs to be loved.

So, my chicks are supposed to be garaunteed by 3pm today... it is noon. They did however make it from Atlanta ~~ *** ~~ uuggh anyway, to Minneapolis. Really Why the cross country trip. IL to WI... seems pretty simple to ME!
Well I guess we will see.
