A bit of snow on the ground this morn BUT the sun is peeking out. Let's see, that's 3 snowfalls on the robins, so we're all done now.

My drake is back, he must have followed some geese upstream. One of the guineas spent the night outside somewhere and looks like something took a snatch at it because its one wing is is bit askew. Still nothing in the livetrap.... smart pred.

So whatcha gonna get judge?? You're much better off getting a heatlamp at Fleet or TSC. The little hardware stores really seem to mark them up. I'm all for patronizing the little guys but sometimes you have to go by your own pocketbook.

Crap! I had a bunch of quotes, then I went to another page and of course, lost them all! Ugh!

The babies from CC are fine. I never figured out what their malfunction was last night. The brooder temp is fine, they had food and water, but the one thing that I did add was a bit of pine shaving under the area where I have the heat lamp focused. Maybe that helped?

Thanks Colton, et all for concerns on the Lav Orps. I'm glad that you got your dimensions figured out for the coop you are building.

Super cute pictures Colton so many boys your mom must be a patient lady!

Well, like I said I am sorry you lost your ducks. I do have a buff female but she is just stock, not show quality.

Colton, I also wanted to let you know you are NOT weird! Have you been reading what the adults post on here?????

BTW, mom of 4 here.

I forgot to mention that last week I saw that the Pelicans are back on Lake Winnebago! Not sure how they managed the ice storm, but it was really nice to see they had returned! I also saw the white deer again! When those of you from the south head up for the bash; on HYW 45 just before the Cty Hwy II exit and HWY 10 exit, there is a field on the right side of the road with a woods just past it. There are 2 white whitetails that hang out with a bunch of 'regular' deer. It is such a treat to see them on my way home every once in a while. Someday I will bring my camera along and I will get a few snapshots of them..... I think it is 2 does that I am looking at, but I know I saw a buck last year so there may be more than 2....

Oh, and TO? the DH decided to look up Button Quail (just for you

). He wanted to know what they look like.
WOW How cool to see the white deer. I ve been an advide outdoorsman my entire life and never seen one in person. I drive through that way every day to work. I might have to try to get a look at the deer. What kind of birds do you raise? I may have already asked this but theres just to many of you to keep up with.

The lav orps keep intermittingly acting like there is something wrong (chirping loudly). I go check on them and have been repeatedly showing them the waterer and food. CC- what temp did you have them at today?
They did that for me yesterday too when I moved them out of my brooder & into that box out in the foyer. I was assuming it was because of the change of location. They quieted down after a short while.
I had the bulb offset with the temp directly under the bulb at 95 degrees. By Monday you should be able to reduce it to 90.
As long as you dipped all their beaks in the water, they should figure it out. Maybe your water or feed tastes different than mine. That combined with the new surroundings will have them out of sorts. By now, they have probably calmed down? (I'm a few pages behind
