Good evening all!
Spent some time out with the chickens today, just watching. Everyone seems to be doing just fine. The 10 week olds are doing good too, but are pretty skittish. Except for my favorite roo, which is probably why he is so friendly.
My little mini pony was in a weird mood today. Running around inside the fence like a crazy horse. Running around and around and kicking back like a mule! I figured maybe he was getting a little stir crazy, so I put his new halter on him and took him for a walk. He did really well considering he hasn't gotten walked in awhile and I have no idea what I am doing. Speaking of which- do you horsey people cut their manes? It is over his eyes and I feel like he can't see. Someone told me you shouldn't cut it though so....
Otherwise not much new here. Still waiting for spring.

My incubators seemed to hold during the weekend while I was gone! Glad about that!
The saddest thing (besides one of the calls getting nailed on the road) A goose died, no indication of why, I am thinking old age? ANyhow, her mate is standing over her on the side of the barn...I moved her closer to the silo in preparation of tossing the body down there...5 hours later he is STILL standing over her! My neighbor swears that they dont mate for life and arent sad when I send one to his place (like on Thursday morning) Maybe I need to call him tomorrow morning to see him!

Oh yeah--Frenchie we had the best laugh at the crop...you posted the "breeding" of that pup...I was calling it a ShitPooDoxCock and all of my friends were practically in tears! It still is making me laugh!

OK--It appears that it is morning...oh oh, I better get my butt to bed! I did brush the horse out this morning..........serious weight building will be going on before I start conditioning him for a summer of riding! Sheesh!

Back again!

FT... now you know how I feel when little old ladies pass me up! Cute story! Couldn't you engage her in chicken talk when you reached the coop? I would think the way you can chatter that that would have given you at LEAST 15 min. of rest!

I know there was more I was going to say, but my "night chores" took longer than I thought. Hubby cooks on SUN. and well.....the kitchen takes a hit! I still get to do the dishes and clean up!

The "broody turkey" is spending the night on her "nest". I say "nest" because all it is is the corner of the chicken coop under the roost.... where she can get pooped on. I got to figure out how to set something better up for her SOON! Problem is there is hardly anywhere the chickens haven't been.

My son has what the doctors call a "Limb Deficiency" his left arm stops below the elbow and before the wrist.

He has amazed me with his ability to adapt since he was born. ie. holding a baby bottle with his feet, crawling was too hard so he just stood up and walked at 8 or so months. He still holds things with his feet like paper while he is cutting it with scissors. I favorite thing is when we point out another person with a different apendage, like the guy in the olympics that plays ping pong has a simular arm to Daniel, when we got all excited and pointed it out to him he was all ":what's that got to do with me?" who cares, so what. To me that means in his head and personality he is not looking to be recognized as different or less. To him he is the same as anyone with 2 hands.

He has had a sense of humor about it since he was 4. Kids would ask what was wrong with his hand and he would hold up the good one and say "nothing, see"

Yeah, I think we all take things or granted. When I broke the small bone in my hand years ago and had to have a cast (even though it was my left hand) I realized how bad it was to not have use of that hand and didn't realize how it would afffect my every day life as well because of my other missing part (no Heather not my brain) lol

So anyway, CS I'll pm you abothe puppy. Where abouts do you live in Centeral WI?     I was hoping to hear from VickyW. I think she needs another dog as well.

Dear sweet Robin. I'm drinking enough that when I can't walk straight, I'm parking my butt in her lap and she can roll me over to my camper. . (no, not roll OVER me on the way to the camper)

Frenchie I'd lock that leg up when you take it off because I might come up with a drunken scavenger hunt. Except when it's drunken you don't always remember where you hid stuff...
