Ok, where was I ?
I wasn't finished telling you all about my walk back from the barn..... The little old lady was walking and talking and I was huffing and puffing !!! Mind you I'm only 54 yrs young !!!! I was to ashamed to say "Hay (get it Hay not Hey LOL) I need to stop and rest here !!! " so I kept walking looking up to see just how far I had to go !!!
I did manage to get in three words while walking though !!! """"" I"m out of shape " LOL
So I made it as far as her chicken coop and decided this was a good place to stop walking and said (like I didn't remember) "So this is your coop right?" That bought me a few seconds to catch my breath !!!!
So we then continued to walk and she talked and we finally made it to the house.... Thank god.... She said... have a seat at the table...... No problem I couldn't wait...
She then served me coffee and cookies !!!!! LOL Just what I needed !!!! Now I'll huff and puff even more if this eating streak keeps up !!!
Then come to find out 5 years ago she had by pass surgery...... Well no wonder she wasn't huffing and puffing !!! Maybe I need one too !!!!
Actually I am on heart meds and I'd be yelled at big time if I went to my cardiologist right now.....
That did it, I've made up my mind.... I'm going on a diet........
The day AFTER I get home from the Bash !!!
I mean really this 78 yr old lady has a huge garden that she digs and plants all by herself. She said even after her surgery. Then she said she had the surgery on a Thursday and came home on Sunday. No one came to help her. She is one tough cookie.... Oh $hit I said cookie, makes me want more......
Oh and on the horse front. For those of you who didn't make it to the Wis Horse Fair in Madison, my sister did and she said it wasn't that good this year. The only big clinician was a guy with the last name Winter???? Never heard of him and she said the show wasn't that good. ???
Ok, well so much for helping people find chicks. My neighbors were going to order chicks and I was going to add three buff orps to the order. Then they found out (after I looked it up) that they couldn't get the BR's that they wanted until June. So I found Ideal Poultry had them and they could get them this week.
Text ET's boss and told him I would have them and asked what kind of rooster did he want. Ok, thought it was all confirmed. Now neighbor doesn't want them until her husband is home from work the next time (he leaves for 10 days at a time).....
Ok, so that's fine I just text back and said well you better order soon or you still won't get them.
My gosh don't these people know how many times I've filled my shopping cart on McMurray, Ideal, Cackle and Strombergs ?????? Seriously, I'd look at all of the chicks, fill in what they wanted then shopped for myself. Keeping tract (or trying to) when what chicks were available.
I found out the hard way that Ideal's shopping cart will empty out even if you don't close the window !!!
I had ducks in there, magpies..... California whites (black and white leghorn).... porcelain dutch(cause I he one lonely rooster) some other kind of black and white leghorn... you know for my black and white theme around here. Then my cart would empty and I'd start over..... only to find my cart never had the same things in it !!!!! So I give up..... I don't need a darn thing anyway.... It was more like just a wish list anyway !!!!
Oh, I know what you horse people missed... My sister said there was a talk on Why it was good to keep poultry around horses. Helps so they don't get spooked while out riding etc when something hops in front of them. She said the room was packed full of chicken people. I guess Nutrena was there with their booth and the guy had a Rooster. She described the guy and I said I'm pretty sure the guys name is Twain, his wife is on BYC... Then my sister said...... .Those Chicken People Really Love Their Chickens !!!!...............I thought NO $HIT !!!! as I thought about all of you !!!!!! ps My sister isn't a chicken person (she's a poodle person)
Ok, back to my Duck threads... learning more about the color genetics, Anocana and magpie ducks.
