Deli-I am sorry that your FIL is still not doing well. I thought the cook out was supposed to be on the 18th of May? If that works for you let us know and thanks for the comments on my babies!

(LavOrps) I introduced the Lavs to the rest of the family tonight, they seemed to do well so I left the pop door open between the grow-out area and the older birds. I got a hunch a bit ago to check on them...good thing I did one of them was stuck in the bottom and couldn't find out how to get back up and was causing a ruckus! There are a bunch of roos in that group, maybe that's why they are crazy??? At least half are definite roos, I know at least one is a girl, but there are 2 that I am unsure about.
cs, that one pic you posted of the lavs, it wasn't the greatest for me to be positive, but I only see one roo in the bunch. On that pic, anyway.

Del, I'm really sorry to hear about your FIL. Best wishes being sent his way for a speedy recovery.

Irish, so sorry Danny Boy is being so sassy to your DH. He needed to be taught by your DH who was in charge, though.

Good job on all the yardwork!

Cind, you're right about Judge's chick getting it's feathers back. I got a Dom hen from Bigfam that was missing an incredible number of feathers and had alot of what looked like scarring on her back & shoulders, but she grew most of her feathers back. As of now, I can hardly tell her from the rest of my Doms. Those are the cutest chick pics. I just love when a broody hatches out the babies! Ah, you're too funny!

DrH, so darn glad you're back and so happy to hear you're getting some much needed upgrades. I know that flood you had really set you & L back.

Psyco, sorry, but this is no place for the faint of heart. We're Wisconsonites, ya know!

cuties, like Apyl, I thought the stiches were your kitty's leg & foot. What an absolutely horrific thing to have to go through!

I had a cat hit by a car when I was 11. Since then, all of my cats have been strictly indoor only. They never seemed to mind one bit. In fact, they were terrified to go outside, which is just fine with me. Too many dangers out there. But that is just me.

OMG, Terri! What the heck happened to you, woman?!?!?!?

Yeouch, that must have smarted! (Shush, Bigfam)

Zeke, Bigz is awesome, isn't he? Great guy & I am also glad to have found this thread.

Congrats on all the hatches! I had a batch of lavs hatch out. Took their sweet time too.

I had one hatch out early Monday between 1 & 6AM, then 2 more Mon. evening, 1 overnight Mon./Tues, then 2 this AM. There is still one in the bator that has been pipped for what feels like forever (it's beak is poking through a hole) but not much action to get out. And I set them all at the same time.

Oh well. At least 6 are out and healthy.
yesss.gif
Sweet dreams, all!

I totally clicked on the big bator link! I was hoping to see a picture of Joe... :D

BTW... I have new chickies. 2 coronation Sussex, 1 blue ameracauna , 1 Lav Orp (yours CC), and 1 faverolle. Waiting on a bunch more. Who's taking bets on how many chicks will actually hatch?

Okay, is it me or did I read "Who needs a big bator?" wrong?

Yeah, well, I wouldn't exactly call myself faint of heart. Just don't wanna bowl y'all over. I'd like to leave you with SOME kind of a decent impression of me. Sheesh!

I checked the bators,, for about $100 more, you can get a brand new one.. the picture was not that good and no description of model .. ? kind of a pig in a poke.. the extra trays are nice, but not that $$$ nice.. the water bucket is worth only $10 .. $300 to $350 .. maybe $375 if they are the right model..

the dogs went at it again tonight,, this time for no reason.. I think Dora just doesn't like the pup's attention.. she is not quite in full heat, yet.. I was amazed that when I yelled at them to stop,, they did.. let me tell you , outside of a chick fight, there is nothing much more exciting than two 100 pound dogs rolling around on the kitchen floor,,
