Shrinky Dink is acting like a totally normal chick now!!!!!! Navel closed and it acted suddenly like a timer went off and behaved like one that just popped out of the egg. We may be out of the woods

I moved my broody Cukoo yesterday. What a commotion. She is all happy now in her dog crate birthing room with a view of the blanket I draped over the crate for the night. The others are happier too. Everyone wanted to use the nest box she was in, at the same time today.

JJ, ya got me a little nervous about wanting to be Jim's "favorite gal".

Jim knows we still love him and his grouchy ol self, and we highly respect his hatching knowledge. We just have an odd way of "showin the love".

Thank you! On both accounts! I am hoping Bigfam will have an impressive choc roo, otherwise I would really like to breed her to a pure black orp. An English would be phenomenal! But my first choice would be a chocolate LF.

I'm pitching eggs. The bator without the fan sucks. I am waiting until tomorrow, but I'm going to be throwing 35 not hatchers/quitters. That's after throwing the 6 turkey eggs and a couple duck eggs. I'm not very hopeful that the others eggs will be doing anything with all the heat issues. But it's too early to throw them all out.

BigZ, I have been trying to get that man to open up a shop for ages! Pretty much any engine that does not require a computer he will get up an running. We have had so many 'dead' lawnmowers given to us (and of course he has them running in 5 min) he made a shelving unit in the back of the garage to keep them on!

Perhaps we can figure out a day to pop up there.

Also I cannot believe you had a therapist quit..... how long would it take to get another?

I have a styro incubator, and I have had pretty darn good hatches with it. I did all the modifications to it like adding the computer fan and tweeking the thermostat and having the thermo/hydrometer in there.... plus I spent the bucks and picked up a turner.

The kids hatch at school was a bust. All DOA. Poor kids..... I feel like I should have them use my set-up so they actually get something to hatch.

Work has been........ interesting. I had no idea that part of my job title included Janitor. I am so thrilled that I worked my butt off to get my degree so I could mop floors. I believe it is time for a change of scenery..... something that does not require me to work weekends would be ideal.

Had FFF tonight. Keeping the local businesses going.

White Bass are running here too, so if you have a chance to get out on the Wolf River, better get there soon!

I almost forgot; I made the Oatmeal Almond Honey soap tonight! It looks SOOOOO much nicer than my first batch!

Thank you, Mel! And I hear you on the engines. DH is the same way. Our Farmall may not look the prettiest, but it runs like a dream. He's always griping how he dislikes his job & would like to start his own business. Maybe him & your DH should get something going.
