Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

No blood on the fresh newspaper but I will talk more after work or tomorrow. I've got to leave, yipes! LOL! Just wanted to give an update that there's no fresh blood and they all seem to be active and well.

Bye for now!

WOW congrats BBP!!! You must do pics :D

Glad all seems well psycho.

You were right DrH, must have just been a sprained hip on Noodle. Tho still limping she is doing much better today but she is still mad at me for putting her in the "time out" box to make her rest and refuses to come to me. I just get the stinkeye!

No major damage from the freeze but still 2 more nights of frost. Those chicks are going out to the coop on Sunday if I have to knit them little chickie sweaters!

Everyone have a great holiday but don't forget to remember those who gave all and say thank you to the ones who made it home.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and SAFE holiday weekend! Stop in and say "Hi!" if you're in the Waupaca area - I'm in the store 7 days a week now until Labor Day weekend. E2341 Danielson Rd, Waupaca!

good early eve, I had a productive day.. spent a couple of hours on Ollie.. got the whole wood chip pile moved.. except for about 2 buckets I am saving for bedding in the coops.. I also got the black dirt into the greenhouse, and did till the under soil first.. and now I hurt all over more than anywhere else..

have to make a batch of cowboy beans for a cook out tomorrow..

TerriO,, we are hoping for keets for the bash..

my goose eggs were not the most fertile,, almost unbelievable, if you saw my geese in action.. the ones that hatched did not seem real virile, and I had a few starters and quitters. overall just not the most virile eggs .. I am all for getting rid of all the geese.. No future in feeding them all winter , just to not get goslings in the spring..

I am not concerned about the weight of the glass on the roof.. I can build trusses.. and patio door glass is tempered.. and I will take a chance on the few occasional hail storms we get.. It would take special hail to break this glass..

when I worked at Weathershield, we used this glass under our desks and in our office area over the carpet so that our chairs would roll easier,,

I wish I could say my day was productive. I was busy all day and did not get one thing done but scrubbing floors. I started cleaning brooders to get ready for the picnic. I did paint the nest box and that is almost ready to go. I wish I was artistic, I would have painted on a hen.

Made a packing list..woo hoo. lol..

Everyone have a wonderful holiday weekend.

Jim... I would take a couple buff orp chicks... For the right price! ;)

Actually... I'm a little afraid I might not make it to the bash. I have babysitter issues. I was going to leave Halden at home. I don't want to chase the autistic child around the whole night/ and Sat and not be able to talk to people again. I need a babysitter for Tues because I had to switch to get Sat off. Well I forgoti need a babysitter for fri and sat because of the bash. Then I still need a babysitterforsunday and Monday for my regular schedule. That's somebody babysitting 4 days in a row. Of course my MIL is going to be gone and unavailable until Mon. It not fair to my Dad to have to babysit Sunday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. So I don't know if I can't come... :( :( :(

Congrats on the porcelain orp BBP. That is an achievement for sure!

My basement reeks!!! I really need to clean out the chicken room!!! The smell and dust is getting on my nerves now. It been like 2 months with chicks down there.

I have my Icelandic broody right now. I gave her a couple of turkey eggs to sit on. Out of 6 eggs, 4 were cracked. One of those was beyond saving. The other 3 I dripped wax on. I gave a couple of those to her. If they don't hatch, it's ok. But will a broody chicken momma sit for that extra week on turkey eggs? Just curious.

Ok folks... Rum and coke is making the eyes heavy. But before I go, it looks like I have 2 chocolate orp Roos And 2 pullets. Nice balance!
