Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hey Unk... I hear there's a PHA meeting Next Sat. You actually going to show up this year for it?

Thanks Zeke for letting me know. Pervy humor is a terrible thing to waste (kinda like cold sore medicine!)

Hi All!

Jim.... I've been wondering if it isn't still too chilly for the bees. I haven't seen too many either.

cuties... cute pic!

FT... Hummm, hedgehogs aren't as popular as they once were. When I had the pet shop we had them, I haven't seen many lately. I don't think I could sleep in a place like that.

Dan... LOL

Colton... Glad to see your back! Did you get your friends coop made? I'll take morels anytime! Wish I could go hunt for them, just can't hike around that much anymore.

Judge... Glad your feeling better! Maybe you'll have to lock up some roosters and give the girls a break. As for the garden.... yes, they like to sample! I put a fence around our garden.

I may have a garden yet! 2nd son called and said he took the tiller to a guy to be fixed and he replaced the motor. Now if he just brings it back....

Daughter came over and picked all the asparagus and took 7 doz. eggs. sold them all within an hour! She's coming back tomorrow for the ones I hadn't packed up yet. She also brought me
6 decent size bluegills!!! Her SO decided it wasn't enough worth him cleaning. He!! I'll take 'em!

Chicks are doing good... no turkeys yet that I saw. Due Mon. anyway.

Guess that's it.... night all!

Good Morning! Too many pages to catch up on. AGAIN! Judge a fence is the only answer. Chickens will destroy a garden. Turns out so will frost. Have to stop on the way home from fishin today and pick up some more maters and peppers. Broc survived though. That's right I said fishin.

The wood shed has 30 face cord in it and the drains are all draining in the house. Many things yet to do but we're goin fishin dang it! Was eyeballing the rubybarbie yesterday, going to be ready soon. Have a hen that's laying a thin shell, getting a broken one just about every day. Have been giving them oyster shell and feeding the egg shells back to them. IDK. Need to get some gas in the Jeep get chores done then hit the water. Fish on!

Ok, I know no one is probably going to be around to answer in time but I have to try. I will be moving the chicks outside today. They will have their own own pophole from the coop and inside they will be in a large cage about the size of a large dog carrier which is lined up to the pophole so they can go in and out (there is 3 of them). Outside they have their own fenced off area inside the run.

Here's my question. Should I leave the pophole open and let them explore their new area right away on leave them locked inside the coop for a day?

What do you think???

We are going fishing today too!!!

I have to say, I really do not mind the Mall..... EXCEPT for the copious amounts of PERFUME all over the place! I was sneezing the entire time we were in there! I was also graced with a sinus headache and a clogged nose this morning....... yuck.

Kids are watching Animal Planet's I should not be alive...... I think I need my coffee and go back to bed.

Vickiw leave it opened, do not be alarmed if they dont come out :) if they dont, dont force them. And dont forget to put some stick through the cage for roosting! Good luck :)

ChickenScratch - have fun in Indianapolis! Been there a few times, but not much time to wander around or check things out. I hope your foot holds out for ya. I've tried dandelion wine before. My step brother made some one time. Don't know if it was just the way he made it or what, but it was STRONG!!

Judge - OMG! 60 hrs of puking! Yuckies! Hopefully it's overwith. Try going to the store and buying oil of oregano tablets and ginger tablets. They will both help IMMENSELY! No fooling around!

Irishrovr - too funny about your chickens crossing the road! LOL!

CindLady - my DH took me fishing once.....I caught 6 bluegill but we threw 'em all back.

BL - yeah, I hate the powerful perfume at stores, too. :( Thankfully, the malls out here suck. So it's extremely rare we go to one. LOL! I prefer the bigger, nicer ones down in IL. Like Cherryvale Mall in Rockford and Woodfield mall in Schamburg. :D

Whelp! Time to get off the pc. I don't have time to sit and check in with any of the other message boards, just this one. (AWW!!) I've gotta jump in the shower and finish last minute cleaning and haven't even started cooking yet. We've got family & friends coming over for our Memorial Day weekend pot luck get-together. And of course, there'll be enough food to feed an army! LOL!

Gotsta runn oft! XD Have a wonderful rest of the weekend, everybodeee!!!

good morning, just finished reading 50 posts.. had a few comments..

welcome back Colton,, does your mother know you are here ? are you going to make it to the bash next week end ? your whole family is welcome, you know..

I have ONE keet that hatched last night.. hope there will be more..

Chickens will do a garden in ,, in no time.. I had some in my potato patch once.. when I dug the spuds, there were lots of them with scratch marks on them.. guineas are not so bad.. they tend to pick , but not scratch so much..

I have almost all the dirt leveled off in the green house.. I tilled it good, so the dirt is good and loose for shoveling..

I started up the Farmal A and pulled my big trailer down to the work site.. I will use it as a table top for fastening the 11 ft sections together before standing them up into place.. I might have to entice bro Dave here to help stand them up.. Am I ever getting myself indebted to him.. I promise him a chimichanga every time he comes. I think we will be eating out for months..

I charged up the camera.. will take pictures as things progress..

I know I had more comments.. guess I will have to go back and see if I can find the questions.

.....jimgoingsearching.........

Blossoms/bees.. I have lots of blossoms, but not many bees.. it seems too cold for bees,, If they (bees) do not fly soon, the blossoms are doomed..

You Southerners are lucky.. my rhubarb is just coming up.. No garden will be planted until after the bash.. I should make a good batch of rhubarb wine this year.. it has been a few years, and most of it is used up.. I have 20 gallons of blackberry wine still in the carbouys.. I should sample that .. maybe it is good enough for my white elephant ?

Good late morning! Nice to catch up with you all again...especially Colton! Welcome back!

I am still having turkeys hatch...I moved the larger ones outside into the new brooder so they are less crowded now. Here is a pick of the new brooder. I bought this toybox at a rummage sale about 4 years ago...finally it is made into what I had planned! DH was kind enough to weld the grate on top for me.

Here oare the babies heading on their journey outside.

ABd here is the lone baby from "Silver" I guess she didnt want to have 14 to watch again this spring!

I got the garden mostly planted. We drove out to a guy's place that grows heirloom tomatoes and I got some peppers too. I need to get that stuff in today and also plant my beans and squash. I guess I better get moving on all that stuff...I am off to Cuties' place tomorrow with the eggs. (thanks again!)

Have a good day...I hope you got to sleep last night Frenchie! You will sleep way better if you do get a machine...DH hardly snores at all now!
