Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

good morning, (yet),

Unka Dan, I got half the tomato plants hanging from strings.. I used a piece of 1 1/4" pvc well pipe and another piece of schedule 40 1 1/2 PVC.. they both work well enough.. I have to get 2 more pieces of pipe,, I am going with the 1 1/2" .. is just a bit stiffer..

I have to go trim off the lowest branches yet.. I had to quit before.. the sweat was running into my eyes so much, I couldn't see.. and it burned..

but Annie said what I had done really looked nice.. I thought so too.. thanks for that tip..

I burned the stump for about an hour last night.. It is gradually going.. using oak really made a difference.. much hotter and better coals.. wish I had some elm ..

My Mom used to make apple butter.. I didn't care for it much.. I think it was too much on the spicey side.. I think she used cinnamon and nutmeg ?? IDK .. it was OK, but I wouldn't walk out of my way for a taste of it..

I am going on CL and trying to get rid of every hen I have.. some are laying, a few are not.. most of them are 2 year old.. a couple of them are over 4 .. anyway, it is time to start with fresh young pullets ..

anybody need a Delaware rooster ? I have 2 extras.. and one beat up gimpy cross breed barred rock.. He looks so mangled, I wouldn't even butcher him..

I am still getting calls for birds, but nobody is showing up to buy..

Jim...this is getting scary! T

we must be on the same bio clock ..

btw, last year I made some of that pear jam/butter.. where you just cook it down until it thickens ? deeeelicious !!!

No , the tiller is not running yet.. I might work on it today.. I doused it with seafoam last night hoping to clean out any varnish or rust that might be in the carb..

I talked it over with the guys at West Side Battery.. It could be a bad carb.. less than $20.oo for the kit.. If it is the coil, $62.oo..

Unka Dan, that motor does not have points,, it just has that ignition module .. (coil) there is a high spot on the fly wheel which causes the spark as it passes the coil.. really simple and neat.. sooo I don't have to pull the flywheel after all..

hi folks,

did some early morning in the gardens was nice and cool,,,then the sun got higher and hotter with no breeze when tilling,,,that ended that for now

glad the string trellis worked Jim,,,since I switched I would never go back to cages or stakes,,,even in the field I would figure out a method to "hang" them

sooo, do you have spark on that small tiller? get Annie to hold the plug?

moved the last chicks out of the basement yesterday and the sportsman is shut down for the year,,,now to clean that corner up

I would mention that the strawberries are still hitting the spot and that DD has improved an old shortcake recipe,,,but I don't want to make Heather drool (more than normal)

Terri where would I take a duck to see a Vet around here? I don't need to spend $ to get her x-rayed, I'll check her over myself. She is eating and drinking and laying and she does stand up. When I get home tonight I will give her a good checkup.

I have spent the last three days at work updating our chemical inventory database and making sure we have all the MSDS's to go with X chemical.... Double checking CAS #'s and expiration dates..... toxic effects etc..... This has taken so long because I am waiting for msds on some new chemicals, and I am being thorough......

Lunch break over. Back to the computer.

Dan, I took the recoil cover off and just looked and looked.. then I noticed that the spark plug wire is squashed almost to the center.. I am guessing I found the short.. and chit,, the wire is molded to the coil, so a new coil is prolly the answer.. Unleeeeess I can figure a way to splice in a piece of spark plug wire.. hmmmmm,,,, what have I go to lose ?? but first I am going to wrap some elec tape around that squashed spot ..

I ran out of spark plug holders over 40 years ago..

Annie promised to go get some more strawberries this week.. I think she needs a reminder..

Colton, I know you didn't mention that the rooster was not eating,, Since you didn't, I assumed it was .. Who's on first ??

ETA (learned that from TerriO)
Annie just came home and announced that she was going to pick some strawberries.. I volunteered to go get some whipping cream.
eat your heart out, Heather.. and Dan,, she always drools a bit, can't help it.. I heard she licks the windows on the short bus, too..

Quote: get a large watermelon, poke a small round hole in the side large enough to insert a funnel. (Make sure the side that is down... is flat and keeps the melon from rolling). Get a really nice quart of melon vodka and fill the melon up. Cool over night. You will have wonderful fruit the next day.

For you Kristip
