Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

BabyL...... Oh yes, that link was up my ally! I like the "bear in my way can't see the question" But the eye of Sauraun was the BEST. That is totally up Hudson's ally. The fact the teacher was NO...... Get a grip

I set up a nice little duck and goose swimming area yesterday. George was the only one to visit it. The dumb ducks just panted in the shade. I used bricks and cement blocks and built steps into and out of the 2 different sized pools. You'd think by now they'd be big enough to get out of the tiny one on their own. (They being the bantams, the tiny one is a tiny crab sand box that's not very deep when filled) Well if they were you, then you'd be me, and you'd be wrong, because I had another Australian Spotted die last week by drowning in the tiny pool because it couldn't get out?! I'm down to 2 out of the original 5 which was the ENTIRE point of my order. So I have Dutch hook bills I didn't really want, and a couple Welsh Harlequins I didn't really want, and only 2 little Aussie Dots. Thank goodness it looks like a male female pair. But at this rate, who knows if they'll live long enough to make babies...

So happy to be on the 4 day off stretch. Yesterday I had to function on 4.5 hrs of sleep and go back and forth to Madison twice and then didnt get out of work until 12:20 am. Do you think I could sleep in? Nope. So today i got 5.5 hrs of sleep. With 2 therapy sessions today, and a Dane county deputy coming over to FINALLY get our Caretrak hooked up for Halden, I don't see where I'm getting a nap in. But this is gonna catch up with me, so I have to find a way to get a nap in. Even if I pass out on the couch during a therapy session!

We had a progress review for Halden yesterday, hence the early morning trip into Madison. But I'll catch you up on that later. Gotta get kids ready and off to summer school.

MORNING
th.gif

yeah vicki I agree, did the morning chores at 6,,,wayyyy to hot and muggy for this ole man

Nope, not cool enough to sleep yet. :(   And I can feel my feet start to puff up a little, waaaaaaaaahh!

I left out a 2 gal bag of frozen strawberries last night, so I had to make freezer jam this morning. Oops. Still have one more bag to do. Terri, I think we were on the same brainwave today: I was just going to trim back my comfrey and ended up weeding the whole walkway on the south side of the house. It was so bad we weren't walking on it. Looks much better now.

BigFam I'm sending you a belly pic. Just to make you happy.

Can you send me a pic of the comfrey? Also, does it prefer sun or shade?

I received some bad news last night..... can't divulge it just yet, but let me just say things are going from bad to worse.

Taffy must be feeling really good, she was quacking like mad this morning when DH left for work.

So I finally found my fried cheesecurd eating, chicken loving Wisconsonites. Hi everyone. I live in Dodge county and just wanted to say hi. Only 39460 posts to read to catch up but....who am i kidding that is gonna take forever. Stay cool

Hang in here babylady4.... Hope it is not s bad as it seems.

I have a dog related question... So the butcher gave us some bones for the dog when we picked up our quarter of a cow the other day. They appear smoked ( smell like it) he is working on one right now but it is stinky so stays outside where he is not all day long outside much. Can I freeze the other ones? How long until they go bad? I know it is a better, option than the rawhides he goes through so quick. Your thoughts? These are big knuckles, some with marrow that are half his size! Remember he is a large corgi so 35 lbs or so

Hellooooooo to all our newbies!

Kristi, I would toss them in the freezer, if nothing else to keep them from getting odorous. Ask if they can keep them raw next time (then you'll really have to freeze them, but perhaps a tad more nutritious.)

BigFam, you have WH you don't really want, you say?? Boys or girls? Holderread, correct?

cs, here is the comfrey mid spring. This first growth had grown another foot taller, put out flowers and fallen over, and the plant is putting out its 2nd growth now. I only transplanted a 4-5 inch clump about 3 years ago - tenacious stuff.
