Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Oh I am so tired...I should have come on here last night and chatted with all of the rest of you that couldnt sleep! I have to go and get a haircut at 10 and all I want to do is sleep! My stomach isnt good either...all night i had that weird "ominous" feeling. But I didnt now what I was worried about. ANyone else get that? What do you do to get rid of it? It is still lingering today...

It was so weird last evening...all of a sudden it was dark and pouring rain! It wasnt supposed to rain--I had the soaker going in the garden. So it is probably crazy humid out there today again.

Well, I am going to grab something to eat...maybe this will settle down with food? Thinking about getting all my hair shaved off!

Unks... That's not my BCM. I stole that pic LOL. Mine has feathered shanks. She needs better copper coloring around the neck. She does have a good tail set. But she's just a layer for me. My Wheaten Marans are my main concern for breeding. I have a blue wheaten rooster, but he is mossy and not a good choice at all. I should have just locked up the mean one until I could have have bred more typey Roos! But he went to freezer camp. Now I'm getting eggs from Berkley Springs. Tough choice to decide who to go with since so many of the breeders out there do have issues. But since he has a closed flock, I'm hoping there's less of a toxic soup genetically.

Oh my... Terri is getting HER kitty shaved??? Unks that is very inappropriate!

Very funny though. Wonder if Derek will like it?

And in case u boys were wondering, my Dr told me pretty much every woman under 30 does shave it now. Completely. Over 30 not usually.

.............and Dan............and Terri.

Terri, we saw some really dark clouds out your way last night and tried shucking the chicks in early. Yeah right. That wasn't happening. I sure wish we'd get some rain soon, but not a cloud in the sky right now.

I put a fan in the coop last night... poor chickens... the guineas seem to handle the heat much better... coming from a hotter climate it doesn't surprise me... they only drink half the water the chickens do too.

Can anyone tell me if muscovy ducks will get along with chickens cooped in same pen ??? (4 chickens and 4 ducks abouts). My neighbor who recently moved in wants to mini farm (he's from the city), he has a coop and covered run and I am giving him 4 Olive Eggers a couple months old, now he told me he is also getting ducks... just wondering if that will work out for him... the pen is maybe 14 x 12 connected to a small coop (9 x 5). I told him I thought ducks were a bit messier.... that's all I know about them. He did say they will free range during the days when they can...
And from what I read, some people say it's fine while others say no...

My Olive eggers and young BCM rooster cooling off yesterday.

Stay cool everyone!
