Warm Evening All....I have all the windows and doors open, and could use a windshield wiper on my puter screen from all the bugs. Must be summer,eh!

Cut 4 heads of broccoli yesterday. Really nice stuff...made wonderful salad with the bacon and knob onions that are also ready.

I was looking back at old pictures of chicks. The gold laced orps and Hershey as babies. May be just the gold laced. Anyway, the Hershey chick that hatched today had a nice sweet face with warm brown on it. I knew .i had seen it before. I found a pic of it from last year. Very cute !!

Wow, our sheriffs dept really dropped the ball in the search for that missing 2 year old. Its making national news and the articles/news stories are making it clear that they didn't look in the places they should have.

Hmmmm, guess I better get out and pick the raspberries tomorrow. Raspberry rhubarb crisp does sound yummy. And some homemade raspberry ice cream on top sounds even better. Thanks for the idea, Bigfam. I'll have an extra piece for you.

Speaking of berries, one of my sweet cherry trees finally produced this year. We've been waiting quite a while for it to start bearing. And I can tell you in no uncertain terms that it is definitely NOT a sweet cherry tree!

Definitely pie cherries........... Darn those fish feces!

Oh well, next year I'll be canning cherry pie filling, I guess.

Not much else new or exciting. The chickies are holding their own in the oppressive heat. I gave them a very large pan of water for them to wade in like Vicki's girls, but they just looked at me like I was crazy and have been using it as a large drinking trough.

I hope everyone and their birds/critters are doing ok. Sweet dreams, all.

Deli already heard this, but I thought I'd share with the rest....the chickens were squawking loudly and for a long time. It grabbed the attention of someone mowing the lot behind us. Pray that he keeps his mouth shut because I just can't tell the birds to shut up. I don't know why they are being so loud.....maybe they are protesting against the heat? I already caved and gave them a fan....I can't air condition the outdoors! LOL
I have 2 days to finish painting, cleaning, and reorganizing before DH returns with my dad. Does anyone have spare anti-anxiety meds I could use? LOL
I have managed to clear out linens. I have bed sheets and comforters for girls and boys if anyone is interested PM me. Free if you come get them. Otherwise, they are going in our yard sale. Tinkerbell, Hello Kitty, Speed Racer, flower pattern, etc.
