Judge... Too bad the boys couldn't show you what big boys they are. Maybe you can set something up to make up for it. Glad you didn't get a "touch down" or had some damage. Don't know what to tell you about the broody and egg issue. My broodies (so far) stay where I put them with a pile of eggs.

Good Morning everyone !!!!

ET and I went to the County Fair in Antigo. Not to many chickens there. A few Leghorn hens and roos. One of the roos had a very pale comb. An Anaconda (sp) Roo, Light Brahma hen, some bantams but they didn't say what kind.. Two ducks, a Peking and a rouen drake. A pair of geese and a few guineas. Tons of bunnies. No more then about 10 horses.
We only spent $5 for parking, didn't spend a dime there otherwise. Then left and went to the Mexican Restaurant.
On the way home ET tells me that we are out of hay !!!!

Forgot to call our hay guy, sure hope we can get hay in the morning.

Only 6 of my guinea keets survived but they are all growing, eating and looking good.

Stacy, sorry to hear about the loss of your kitty.

Trying to watch a movie here but am falling asleep. Speaking of sleep, I wore the oximetry meter last night. Every time I looked at it the oxygen level read about 94 which is good.
Now I'm just wondering if I wear it tonight and tomorrow night if it would register in the meter or not? They told me to just do Friday night. So wonder if it would hurt to do three nights since I don't bring it back until Monday. I want to make sure they have a good idea of what's going on !!!

rant of the day....went to county fair yestreday and was checking out the chicken barn. and watched a teen girl and her mom grabbing eggs and popping them in and out of other cages. asked what they were doing. as they walked off they laughed and said...playing the egg game..switching white and brown eggs !! grrrrr not spending germs or anythinb! noticed quite a few without water pecking at empty dishes, sneezing, puffy faces etc!

positive not...the popular breed was blrw and all but grand champion werent even close to the blrw i got from delisha!

good morning,, today is supposed to be hatch day for a few Delaware chicks..

Sandi, the Sebs are 1 male and 2 females ..

It took all night for me to send a photo on regular email.. I have to find a better way..

with the broken egg problem,, If you are finding broken eggs, it most likely is not an egg eater doing it.. they usually leave no scraps.. I am voting for chickens hopping into the nest to lay their eggs and a skirmish begins..

our cluck has taken to hopping into a nest at night and leaving the babies on the floor.. so at lock up we throw her onto the floor and then she gathers the chicks and all is well for the night..

I cannot get Ollie to start.. looks like the fuel is not coming through as fast as it should.. I will be taking the fuel line apart .. but first I am going to put the lawn mower back together..

where is DrH ?? does he even lurk ? has anybody talked to him on the phone ? I hope he is not sick or something ..

I forgot my jacket at the restaurant last night after cards.. I think I will go retrieve it and have a cuppa before I start my day.. Annie has been having me help her clean up junk around the place.. I must admit, it sure looks a lot better.. not quite so "redneck" looking..

Well today is a good and bad day all rolled into one.
Little Lady hatches 8 of 11 so far. 3 are pipped and will be hatching soon as their partially zipped. Have daughter giving me updates as husband has softball trny in New Auburn for Jamboree Days. Our next game was suppose to start at 8om but the one before us just started so its going to be a long night. Anyhow out if the 8 hatched I have 2 more Lav Orps, can't wait to see if I get more from her and the other 2 broodies.

Now the horrible. My kitty died today! He was 15 in Feb. I got him at 3 weeks old and bottle fed the little guy. He was mentally handicapped due to inbreeding, was a Siamese cross barn cat. We are making him a memorial in my flower bed in front yard. I doubt I'll find ever get another cat as I'm not overly fond of them although we have them, their purpose is to hunt mice here. His name is Seymour and he will be SADLY missed.

Today started as the Day From He!!..... Work was a nightmare. What was supposed to be a 'short' day, turned into a 'long' day...... for the most part due to equipment failure and broken equipment...... I swear I cannot get out of there fast enough..... after work I had a wonderful lunch with one of the Bio Profs from Fox, then scooted home so we could all pile into the van and shoot over to the in-laws and meet up with the rest of the extended family for dinner and laughter.... of course on the way we were slightly sidetracked by a loose heifer in the road. I did not want somebody to hit her so we stopped the car and a few kids piled out to help herd her back.... a nice break in the day.....

So now we are back home and I have a load of jeans in the wash for our trip...... I am REALLY looking forward to getting away.....

I was sorry to hear about the kitty. Just lost two 15 yr old cats here myself. It sucks; but I also have two more 15 yr old cats to keep me company. One is sitting at my feet and the other is sitting on my shoulder right now.

Starting to pass out here..... I forget that I have been going since 4:30.... AM.....
