Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

eggs are very fertile in that coop, last hatch had seven of the nine eggs from that coop pip, not all made it though. I hatched two of the four light Sussex, one more pipped, didn't make. something got the other two, or they wandered off. There is a chance that you could get a mix of breda, a very cool chicken, and light Sussex. I have another breda roo in there that is not the top dog, but there is still a chance.

that's what I feel like, a year ago, we hatched some eggs from our chickens, fifteen of em, 12 were roos, good thing there are mongs around here, they took all of em, 4 bucks a piece.

Colton, How's that coop going ? I meant to ask for pictures to get a better understanding of your question.

Our neighbor raked our hay field today and is going to bale tomorrow. He is taking about half of it. He pays us so much for the bales he takes and we pay him for the bales we take (more then the what he pays of course cause he cuts and bales it) He takes the stuff that has more weeds in the field. I won't feed it to my horses. Milkweed is toxic, even dry. I have seen that they will pick it out but I don't like to flirt with danger !!

If I ever win the lottery I will have my whole field redone (about 17 acres) but that day isn't here !!!

So, they asked if I would babysit for their one year old little boy !!! He is adorable !! I asked ET how long it would take to bale and stack it. Couple hours??? He said no, 3-4 hours !!!!

Oh boy !!! I hope the little guy is as happy as he always seems !!! I've never babysat for him or is it babysitted before !!!
Guess I'll have to figure out how to quiet him down if need be. We're gonna play in his fenced in little yard with tons of toys and a sand box !!! FUN !! Not used to changing diapers on a little guy either (I only have a niece !!) Do you still have to cover their pee pee when you change them so they don't sprout a leak or is that just when they are tiny babies? Or at a year and a half to they aim at you !!! LOL

I am a total hip o crit !!! The neighbors asked us to go to the Elcho Fire Department fund raiser. They had a rib tasting.. It started at 4pm. We got their at 5pm and they were all out of ribs... Guess the participants only had to make 3 racks.... It was $10 per person. But they also had a pig roast and on the cob... and a brat with sauerkraut. So they lowered it to $5 a person. I ate a brat and kraut. A tiny amount of pork (and I felt guilty with every bit and almost gagged a few times) and half an ear of corn. I gave most of my port and brat to ET though. I just wasn't into eating it. I could have eaten the ribs smothered in BBQ sauce a whole lot easier !!
I wanted to go to the local Resturant later and have Pie !! LOL But instead we picked up some ice cream and carmel topping and went to Summit Lake Park and ate it. My Gosh, I was freezing by the time we were done eating it !!! 54 in Antigo tonight !!!

We stayed a while at the Fund Raiser to listen to a guy sing country and play his guitar... He was really good, kind of cute too, even with a tooth missing !!!

So that was the highlight of the day..... so much for getting anything done around here. And it doesn't look to promising for tomorrow either. 3-4 hours of babysitting is about all I think I'll be able to handle.
Where's Jim ???? Maybe he is moonlighting on us and has his own show??? I'll have to turn on the radio !!!
TO, by the time I'm done reading the book his new edition will be out.... he has one coming out this fall, seriously !!

Two and a Half Men is on... love that show... it is so filthy but FUNNY !!!
So I best take me sleeping pill early so I get a good nights sleep.

Oh, and about the coop, didn't have time to work on that because at eight this morn, had to help my moms friend move. Got home at 11:30, ate and went to band camp, 12-8. Dad was late, and ate dinner as soon as I got home. Promise pics tomorrow

WOW, I thought I was the only one that hatches Roosters. And there aren't any Hmongs over this way which explains why I have tons of Roosters running around. I also have two mutt hens with two mutt Roosters (which are very pretty btw) that have 7 little peeps running amongst them.... wonder if because the hens hatched them my luck will be better !!! ????

That's one of the reasons I haven't incubated.....
Wonder what my male/female ratio will be with all these Muscovy's ? VickyW.... want a pet duck or two or three ????
