Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

One of my older gardening friends told me those traps actually attract more beetles from outside the area so you may end up with more beetles on your plants before they make it to the trap. Even if you move it away from the target plants, they fly over it from one direction in order to get to the trap. (Same goes for the electric bug zappers.) I had some on a little mini rose and I just kept knocking them off and squishing them. They seem to be gone now and the plant is doing fine.
Yes I had some on my roses also and just pulled them off and havent seen anymore... maybe it wont be a good year for them'

Its not slander when its true.  Sadly it was me it happened to.

Wow. So sorry. No one should EVER have to suffer that anywhere! :hugs

Took my little Angel puppy to the vet today. Poor baby. She's so uncomfortable tonight. An undetected infected anal gland literally blew a hole in her bum. She had to be knocked out to clean up the mess. Now it's a week of pain meds, a month of antibiotics, a bum wash 3x a day, a trip to the vet once a week to empty the gland, etc. (Ouch ) and of course trying to get her to wear the cone of shame.

My neighbor and I are driving south to Jim's farm tomorrow to meet Terri and get four of her girls so poor hubby will have to puppy sit.
I am the bum extractor in the family... It takes some nerve and a double plastic baggie but when scootchin happens the anals get expressed. Us too got our first egg from our Americauna very strange next to all the browns I must say

Morning everyone :frow

Wow what a crispy morning! 38o next to the house and it looks like we may have spot frosted in the field. :th. Hope hubbys pumpkins didn't get hit. Supposed to get colder tonight, whoopee.

One very long night trying to sleep with a hurting puppy with a big plastic cone on her head. She's snuggled into my shoulder right now and shivering. Poor baby. Poor Pa. He's going to have to take over while I go after the chicks from Terri. Yep, chickies. A little younger than Terri thought, these are only 9 weeks old but that's ok. Just a bit of adjustment in feed, etc. Hope my FF still has the small bags of Nutrena starter/grower. still need to check if that's a problem for my neighbor.

Just heard hubby get up so I can go outside and take care of the girls.

BTW - HI DR HaHa!!!! Good to see you!

Morning folks...just checking in quickly befor I head out. What a gorgeous morning! I am glad it is NOT as crisp as vicki's morning however! And poor drH! Garden is a bust??? What will he do for pickles? (I still have a few jars left here...)

Welcome GreatB! What do you mean by the Above? You were slandered or got nabbed for doing the slander? (gee, maybe I shouldnt ask that but as others have said..."curious minds want to know!") I too was nearly a victim of slander...when I was falsely accused of stealing from a store where I worked. They said it to my face though and didnt say it when called for a job reference. One of the worst times of my life for sure!
I would just like to point out and take credit for getting Doc to check in. I may be a B, but some people love me :-D

See Jim... Ask and ye shall receive ;-)
Now whoever said you were a B? I only called you a crabass! LOL!

Gotta run! TerriO

Jelinek11 -- sorry about your Dad. I lost my dad to leukemia about 10 years ago. Still feels like yesterday. It is a horrible process to watch and go through.

Well, yesterday the oldest started Freshman football and Drivers Ed in the same day. Tomorrow is freshman orientation. That's a lot of growing up in one week for a mom to deal with !!!

I am embarrassed to say we had to buy eggs yesterday

the "teenagers" 21 of them, are not laying yet.......just eating........and my 8 hens that should be giving me enough eggs to keep us afloat have gone on strike. 1 egg really !! 1 !!! uugghhh. I did find #2 all mashed in the box last night though

I hope the little buggars are not mess'n with the eggs!

Garden keeps growing, but producing minimally. The only thing that seems to be thriving is spaghetti squash! Lots of green tomatoes, a few green peppers... the kale is nice ;-) not gonna be an overly productive season! I really needed to can tomatoes this year, so they better start get'n busy!!

have a good day everyone! ~~ Welcome to the New Member!~~
