We don't go to Hills Still for sit down very often in the summer, too noisy. We are close enough tho that we just call in for their yummy broasted chicken or fish and fries and hubby pops down to pick it up. For this far north they have a very good salad which I really enjoy. One warning. NEVER order the duck!!! Made that mistake once. Waitress told me later I was the only one she'd ever seen order it. Must have set in their freezer for ......., yuck. We enjoy going there for a quiet dinner or Sunday brunch in the winter.

For future reference Frenchy, they have a great all-you-can-eat fish and chicken on Friday with the salad bar. Just get there early for the best service.

Hello, to those of you who own Mille de Fluer D'ucclles, I have a hen and she is 7 months old, when abouts will she start laying and what would her eggs look like?

D'uccle eggs are small and off white/ beige. Mine was about 6 months old when she laid.

Colton, that was me with the twisted neck chicken. It wasn't a chick thought, 7 1/2 mo old pullet but sure it was caused from a heat stroke.

I've had a chick get wry neck and an older pullet. It must be a vitamin deficiency I think. But I've never had luck fixing it with polyvisol, or anything else.

Got my mealworm farm started today. 500 of em. Set up is quick oats, target didn't have wheat bran and wheat germ was extremely expensive. Put some ground up pellets in with an apple slice, and two carrots.

Good evening! Finally caught up on over 120 posts! Of course I cant remember very much since I have read on and off all afternoon today...go out for a bit and then back in under the fan...it is pretty hot out there when working for sure!

Frenchie I did notice when you posted and figured it was your day. I am not big on hinting though so I ignored you.

I rememered last year when you and Tomski found out you shared the day...hope it was good.
Bad about the fire CS! That is just slightly terrifying. I thought for sure you were going to say that the 9 year old did something to the vacuum! Poor kid will probably never clean again!

Two more groups of ducklings hatched today. I need to have a big sale. Oh yeah Vicki(I think) when did you come out to my house and take a pic of me feeding my chickens? I love the ones on the porch...looks just like home.

I have to go and feed the dogs (great advice on the excercise BTW!) My usually obnoxious ones got to go to the dog park today and just layed on the floor and slept all afternoon!

Oh yeah...the mealworm colony slows way down in the winter. You dont have to do anything with the worms...just feed them as they hatch and grow. The chickens LOVE them better when they are juicy and moving!
BTW--if you are using any chicken feed be sure to microwave it and let it cool before adding it to your colony...I ended up with white mites in mine from feed!

A day late but I'm sporting my Birthday suit today in front of the fan, although I am wearing under pants so my new doo isn't exposed (wouldn't want to catch a chill) LOL

VickyW, yes we've been there for FFF and Chicken many times. And yes it sure is crowded and noisy!! Not a bad idea getting carryout. What does it cost and how much chicken and fish do you get ?
Have you guys seen that big bear behind the glass case ? 737 lbs ! Poor thing. I said to ET...look when people get done eating the dead animals they go over and look in at the mounted dead animals. Kinda of sick if you ask me !!! He didn't think so but.....

We should all meet up there one day ! Oh and ET was going to order the duck !!! I said not today please !!! (remember I said my Mom wanted to come back as a duck cause they can swim, fly and eat popcorn !!) plus I love my ducks and geese. (I think she came back as a goose though)

So, as I sit here under the fan ET is out working on making a small deck for the pool so I can get in, well actually getting in is going to be easier then getting out !! LOL

I was going to go back tot he Casino, I read the literature I brought home last night and I guess you get a free t shirt. Looks like they have more free things going on again...about time you get something for your money !!!
Did I ever tell you guys about the clerk that works at Aldi's in Rhinelander ? She won $15,000.00 playing Bingo at the Mole Lake Casino !!!

Sorry but to the newbie from Lilly (I don't remember your username) How do you do at the Casino ??? I was sitting next to an old Farmer guy from Merrill last night and he started out with $100 and he was up to about $150 at one point. When I left he was down to about $62. He was so cute. He was playing the penny machine. His wife was someplace splurging on the nickel machines. His daughter was getting impatient though. He had her hitting the bet button sometimes !!! He said he goes there about once a month. 54 mile drive one way. He said he has won $2500 once and $7500 another time. Wonder how much he has spent ????
Don't know if I feel like getting dressed to go get a TShirt !!! Why in the H didn't I ask yesterday ????
