bbl4: Just to clarify, I'm sure your supervisor had worked hard to get your position changed, you wouldn't have been there that long if they didn't appreciate you and your work. It is usually the department administration or the main human resource office that makes the hiring difficult.

Good morning---trying to get in the groove here...I am glad a couple of the kids didnt have coffee this morning--more for me!
I ate a baked sweet potato for dinner tonight. Its the first one I have ever had. Really filling, but not something I would prepare the same way again. I'm thinking mashed with pecans and maple syrup would be good.
I cant believe this is your first either! If you can have coconut oil put that on a baked sweet with some cilantro, stevia and lime juice. MMMM! I dont know if you can do citrus yet--come to think of it I'm sure that comes a bit later in detox. It is SO GOOD! I was not ever too fond of sweets with marshmellow etc that is on the T-day table. My SIL makes some with roasted pecans though...that is to die for! I really love Thanksgiving!
LOL! CC, you are always good for a laugh!

Thanks! I needed that!
x 2! Interesting about the cats...they do arrive predead though right?
There are birds all over for sale. It is a good place to find good quality birds since many of the exhibitors bring birds for sale.
Are you selling all of your Orps too?

I took a picture of my 6 month old Gold Laced Orpington. He is really coming along nicely. He weighs 10.3 lbs.

He does look very nice Deli! I like how the gold and brown are so soft on the feathers. Looks like a fall centerpiece!
good morning, I like these warm nights and mornings.. I could do with a little less heat in the middle of the day though.. AC is my friend..

Vicki, the name of the stuff for Dora recommended by TerriO is Flavocin ,, It seems to be helping a lot.. Dora has been on it for only 3 days, so it is too soon to give a full report ..

loose, not tight,, tight and loose 5 letters each
lose . the opposite of find .. find and lose 4 letters each

desert , a hot place
dessert , something good to eat ,,,, the extra S means that you would want another one..
I like your spelling rules! I always heard "loose tooth" Both have two O's! Easier than counting letters!

The others I never had trouble with....but which desert/dessert is the one which means "to leave abruptly?" I think it is the dry one just pronounced differently? Isnt the English language fun?
Frenchie Flavocin is a product that I used for my elderly Border Collie. It turned his stiffness right around. I also used another of their products for my old horses that worked great. It is called Pro-motion EQ. Talk to Norm at ProPet Sciences.
Jim--why do you put peanut butter on Dora's pills? Didnt you get the chewables? My dogs got the bottle off of the shelf (or the cats did) and actually chewed the bottle trying to get at the pills! I was really glad it is a HD bottle!

I wonder why Universities have such a problem hiring quality people and always trying to "keep costs down" and the tuition just keeps going up! And the crazy things they tack on for fees! It drives me nuts! I cant believe the difference in the prices since I went to college. I feel sorry for the kids (and their parents taking out the loans!) Since we got denied for a parent loan this year DD21 is applying for her own. Too bad one of our other kids destroyed our rating with her default...even though she is now back on track I guess we were supposed to bail her out...had we only known, maybe they would have taken eggs in trade?

Taking one of the dogs to the vet today. She is getting so skinny! Dont know what her deal is. I am sure they will have no answers...doctors are doctors right Frenchie?

Have a great day everyone...I need to get another cuppa and get moving here! TerriOfeelingcomfortablenotmovingatall

Spelling is one of the reasons I like math so much. very few exceptions to the rule with math.

Carpets are/were clean and the living room is painted. Now the real work begins. Putting all this crap back in the room.

I think I am getting a new TV. the 36inch tube TV eats up alot of floor and wall space. Anyone have a line on a cheap flat screen ?

My birds are dealing with the heatwave pretty well. My turkeys are becoming escape artists. I don't worry about the dog with them so much as they are big, and the dog learned a lesson from an angry wild turkey hen, whose poult he had killed in our yard. She chased and bit him in the hind end all the way back to the house.

Next up is pink paint for the bathroom. GRRR

Dog getting really skinny= kidney failure here. We had a springer mix that was healthy then got skinny for no reason. Imagine our shock at the reason! Pretty sad to put her down, but she was 9 or 10. Not real young but not real old either.

I gotta get down on the deed of culling extra Roos. No need feeding them. I've got 3 cockerels, and Babe. Speaking of Roos, the chocolate in my basement has the saddest crow ever. It sounds like a toy rooster whose battery is dieing. It is just so funny. I was actually woken up by his repeated practicing this morning. So I guess moving day is fast approaching.

OPINION NEEDED: I'm thinking of moving the 2 choc orp banties, in with my chicks in the nursery (in the shed). I'm thinking of this to expose them to each other for immunity building, but also flock/alliance building. My shed chicks are 2 months now and there are 4 of them. They are LF breeds. The choc orps are 4-5 mo juvies. I THINK they should all get along decently. But I am wrong frequently about chicken matters, so PLEASE interject whether this seems like a good idea. Deli? Terri? Jim? Unk? I don't want To kill my youngers or my $ birds either.

Boy hair cuts got canceled other day. Ive got to take a few now.

with 5 boys, I would buy electric clippers, not hair cuts. summer doos for everyone. "OK KIDS GO GET YOUR BOWLS! IT'S HAIR CUT DAY!"

3 boys and 2 girls, boys have never been to a barber or salon to get a hair cut and girls only once. I've been cutting hair for over 22 years, think of all the money I've saved.
I'm no expert Big, but I would put them together. I've been doing it all year that way. Even when I hatch a fresh batch I'll put one from the previous in to help teach them to eat and drink, it's been working out very well for me. I have had any bad fighting going on at all.

DH got one that had been returned to the store but never used. It was 1/3 the original price, I think he found it at Best Buy. It's a flat screen Toshiba. Space is at a premium in our house so having the TV up on the wall instead of the floor is quite nice.

Heather, no advice for the birds, but is there a beauty school near you? When my sis was in school in Appleton we would get haircuts, pedis and manis for super cheap because the students are still learning. Save ya some $$.

I remember the cat dissection in HS advanced bio. A bit sad, but sooooo interesting. The preservative odor was pretty overpowering though, you could smell it up and down the halls during that segment every year.

We also did crawfish, worms, frogs, clams, and I think rats.

This heat can go right back where it came from. Every day I have cankles and sausage toes within hours of getting out of bed. Even rolling over in bed is a production at this point. Baby is welcome any day now................

Thanks I will check that out today.

You sound miserable. I remember my wife being the same way. Our son was born on Aug 20 and I swear she was overheating the whole 9 months with him. she used to ask me at least once a week "You really feel like this all the time?"

good afternoon folks,

nice and notsohumid day in the northwoods,

Heather I have good luck exposing young/new birds to the flock using temporary fence/pens where they get to go beak to beak for a few days, then turn them loose. Toss some scratch a couple times a day along the fence to force the issue, works well here. Doesn't have to be much of a fence, one area is plastic deer fencing.

Good luck Amy,,,hang in there kiddo

JJ I have good luck with Tiger Direct, the last tv, some electronics, various pcs and parts. Fast and reasonable shipping, excellent communications.
