Well I did it !!!! I got in and swam in my new swimming pool on the last day of the month of August !!!! Is it still summer ????? LOL Two days before I was suppose to go in a pool or tub..... Big deal !! LOL It was great !!! We didn't go in until after dark !!! Couldn't find my swimming suit so I wore ET's trunks and a T shirt. I was almost going to just go in my undies !!! LOL Hey if I can ride the ATV naked I can swim in my undies !!! It was really weird because it seemed so easy to swim and I kept moving around treading water etc just to get some exercise and I thought I would be real tired when I got out... Nope. This might sound stupid but because there is salt in the pool for the salt water system that makes the chlorine I kind of felt like an egg that was starting to float !!! That's one way to check to see if you have enough Epsom salt in your water to soak horse hooves..... after you've dissolved the salt in the warm water you put an egg in. When it floats you have enough salt. I was like bouncing and swimming all over. Felt like an EGG I'm telling ya !!! LOL Now I'm just wondering how that affects your exercise ???? Doesn't feel like I worked out at all. Last time we went to the lake I could barely get out and up on the pier without feeling like I was a beached whale.... LOL So now I feel like I went from a Whale to an Egg.. Just call me Humpty I guess !!! LOL Speaking of the Lake... My sister came up for the weekend and she is at the Lake Cabin in Monico She went down to the lake and our pier is almost floating. I was ready for her to tell me that my pontoon boat had disappeared !!! Nope but the L section of the pier had to be taken down, it was almost under water. Plus the shoreline was flooded back about 50 feet she said. We were going to go over and go fishing.. Guess not cause I can't walk in the water to get to my boat..... Well, at least we had ONE ride on the boat this year and so far ONE swim in the new pool !!! Oh and speaking of pools, when I was at Fleet Farm in Wausau last week I saw they have the same pool we bought and paid $499 at Walmart, and they were selling theirs for $699, is now on Clearance for $399. It includes a combo filter/saltwater system. It is the Intex ULTRA frame 16' pool. Not a bad deal at all Wish I would have waited now !!! LOL There are tons of Flea Markets and Sales going on up here and NO MONEY to speak of.... Had to go to the Feed store and get chicken feed today and to town for Dog food... Broke the bank !!! Nutrena has a new chicken feed out. It's called Feather Fixer. Has pro and prebiotics and not sure what else. Suppose to help with the molt ??? 40lb bag is the same price as their 50lb bag of layer $15 Hope everyone has a Safe Holiday Weekend !!! ps TO wait till I tell ya what deals I got today !!!

Not a good day... Lost my father today 82, very lucky man died in his favorite chair watching TV But as TO said I have 18 mo. twin grandnieces this weekend so being kept very busy which is a good thing. So tomorrow morning I am sending DH to the raceway to select a couple of new ones for our brood. Unfortunately I have to do some planning that no one wants to do

Amy I gave you my horror story (I was eternally preggers) so I think Sunday is a good day to relax and start the week out right...
9/1/2013 11:15pm little boy ( as Heather would say 2 balls) and hmmm weight 7# 10 oz...But my bowling ball is 14 lbs and I would not wish that on anyone!! Good luck and smooth pushing

As for the neighbors dog... Shame on them I certainly hope they offered some kind of restitution! At least it would show some kind of responsibility. I understand animals react based on instinct, but good training to stay in ones yard is a basic principal all pet owners should strive for. My neighbor has lost 3 to her own dog that i think would cause me to rethink my dog...

Labor Day Egg Hatch:
We've got the yellow one and now a black one with white wing tips. I fed the mommas some food and water. Man were they thirsty!
Do the mommas remove the eggshell? I would figure they'd eat the shell right?

I haven't looked at the empty shells but the black one is a slw, the yellow one could be a number of birds.

They use them to feed chicks if they need to. They will kick them out or leave them for you to clean up when they are done. Nothing to worry about. Congrats on your chicks so far. You have more coming.
