Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I just got word that my LF Chocolate Orpington eggs are shipping this week! I'm very excited. I've been selling off my lavenders to make room for them, so I hope I get at least a few to hatch. :D

All baby's..
No adults thank goodness..
I have a family of goshawks. She is teaching to hunt. I put the trap up and caught one of the young ones and let it go hoping they would go away, but in an hour it went back into the trap. It took three times in the trap today before it would leave and not come back. The last time I left it in the trap for an hour before release. Very persistent family. They came back with moved furniture in the yard, streamers in the trees and a disco ball swinging..Joe wants to put a mirrors up on the coop roofs. My yard is officially trailor trash alley. All I need is to turn on my X Mass lights
I would love to see the Christmas lights on! I have been lucky this year with the hawks (Knock on Wood) The worst was the mama fox and her mate...last year the hawks flew through while I was sitting there...you are right Vicky--you dont see them at all...but the chickens know they are there!!
I have a dog that has been staying outside during the nights (not our choice) but she just wont come in...anyhow, I think that might have something to do with the lack of raccoons around here!
Do you have garden gnomes and pink flamingos? Oh, oh..how about concrete statues, reflective orb on a stand, aluminum pie plate, scarecrow, etc? Clear fishing line should keep them out.
Oh yes!!! She needs them ALL!

Well guys--falling asleep here--like I imagine Blake was 3 minutes into the car ride....man he has a BIG voice for a little guy! I am jealous that he got MGs for his birthday...I have a champion here...I NEED eggs in spring! (if you get any) I never did!

Good night good people! TerriO

Well, I posted this morning.... my post got eliminated due to the Flock Watchers.... They emailed me the rules about posting things for sale etc.

All I can say to them is #$%^& *)*( !!!

I posted about my neighbor who is going to be bringing several of her horses to an auction on Thursday. She has purebred Arabian/saddlebred's..
None are broke but are beautiful animals.
The mare is gray and about 12 yrs old. It has given her several foals..... isn't that nice.... this is how she is repaying her !!! She has a 1 yr old black and white filly that is georgous. A 2 year old black and white filly.
A 5 yr old black or brown and white gelding.
These are all going to the auction on Thursday and no doubt will be sold to a meat buyer.
But thanks to the Flock Watchers on here I can't tell anyone that they are for sale.
What a shame.
I had posted one picture that took me forever to upload thanks to the Tiss Poor way you have to do things on this wacked up forum.

Thursday is only two days away..... Did I ever say I really hate people sometimes????

I spent the whole day scrubbing instruments at the spay clinic. They were suppose to have a light load because there was a shot clinic held afterward. There were 32 animals !!! Not a light load for sure. I guess my persistence paid off hanging all of the flyers for the spay clinic. !!! Yipee.

I stayed for a short time for the shot clinic. Quite a good turnout for that.... We really really need these clinics. Again, gives me such satisfaction.... makes all the pain worth while.... my hip has been killing me lately.... think my prosthesis is out of alignment...... argh !

Then I went to the town hall for a meeting regarding a feed store in town. A purina Rep was there.
They had survey to find out what kind of animals people had, numbers etc. It would not be run by Purina but they would be helping them set up. She said they may carry Prince, Nutrena etc but I don't know if Purina would do that? I've never seen a store that carries all of them.
I gave then the phone number to feed mill I use..... it would be great to get them to make deliveries up to Crandon.

The crappy part of my day..... I busted my cel phone screen. I had it in my right front pocket. I was at the spay clinic, went into the bathroom. Did my deed, got up off the pot and heard a crack. Well what I thought was a pen in my pocket wedged between my fake knee and shin actually was my cel phone !!!!! So now I can't see my phone !!!!

Personally, I'd like to see Joe dressed up like a garden Gnome, holding a fishing pole and a pink plastic flamingo, waiting until the hawks show up again, then jump out and scare the cr@p out of them. I doubt they's be back after seeing THAT...

So you are saying that you posted like what you just did and it got flagged or removed by the BYC police? I think that is what you said...too bad I dont have any room for horses...I sure would like another Saddlebred! And I know that BL would like one too...but she needs to buy a farm first!

OK--off to bed now! TerriO

Hi Jim!

Joe said no to dressing up like a Gnome..I loved the idea..I do have a concrete statue of Budda and I should dress it up. Maybe a nice scarf will work. I have pie plates twirling around the garden area..They don't seem to mind at all. The fishing line is the next on the list if they come back. I am hoping the streamers in the trees is enough now..that is my new addition.

Hi Jim!

Yep that's what I'm saying.... Flock Watcher was the username that Pm'd me. I also mentioned in my post that my other neighbor may be rehoming their saddlebred..... it is a paint saddle bred.... it was purchased from the neighbor that is bringing hers to auction. When they found out the neighbor was bring her horses they said why don't you bring ours !!!!! It is trained to ride and drive by the amish but they never did anything with her. So she is green broke I would say and needs a refresher. She would go real cheap.... if it were up to the husband he would give it away I would bring her down to you !!! Her name is Mia

Well got most of the posts read that I missed while being gone but can't remember alot. Congrats on the new baby Amy! Sry about your chicken loss Judy. And others with chicken problems.

Been just trying to get by here, feeling a little better still not able to eat very well but at least the protein drinks are helping although very gross tasting.

Also homeschooling my boys this year which isn't bad and I'm learning alot of neat stuff I can't seem to remember from when I went to highschool.

Chickens are at least seeming stable. Have a few limping for what ever reason, have them in my brooder pen to hopefully heal. 2 of the Broodies left their chicks early but they seem to be doing fine on their own free ranging(born end of july early aug)

My incubating for the man who wanted 60 chicks isn't going so well though. Started with 120 eggs, had to refill 2 of the incubators twice with over half and now even more most with red ring of death. Although the Brinsea has it's original 24 stopped turner lastnight and have pips and hear lots of chirping. The 15 from the Hova-bator I can hardly see in as their BCM I can only see one egg wiggle. I will never buy anything but a Brinsea incubator after all the troubles Ive had with the foam ones.Should of just used my home made one to begin with but with so many staggered I needed something to hatch in. I don't even have 60 eggs left with last refill to hatch next Wed. so I'm not even sure he'll take the ones I will have if theirs not 60. I don't want chicks to raise at this late in the year as they'll have to stay in the house as I don't have outside housing for them when it gets too cold unless I can get help to build my plans of a log chicken coop 10x12 to house all my chickens for the winter as I plan on reducing even more within the next month. What a headache I didn't need, should of never agreed to do this at this time of year! Did a head count and I'm currently at 84 before these hatches. I nearly downsized half already. I've decided to sell all my Lav. Orps, BOs, Black Orp, BCM and a few others possibly my bantams and just keep my BLRW, GLW, SLW and SS and stick with those breeds only. I've had many calls, but am requiring them to take the Lav Orp Roos in sets with 3 hens and noone will take them under this stipulation. Args!

Hope everyone is doing well, I'll try to get on when I can, but I always try and make time to at least read whats going on.
