Cuties, I figure $100-$120 per month per horse since the hay prices rose depending on location. Farrier, about $25-$30 every 6-8 weeks for trim. many dont like to come out for just one horse. Vet is expensive but they don't need coggins unless traveling. Figure $100 for vaccines twice per year if the vet comes to you. We do our own and my husband is a farrier so that saves money. Any other illnesses can break the bank quickly. I lost one several years back to colic and before we had to put her down we were already in $4,000. I was very sad and very expensive. People are always trying to give my husband free horses, but we don't want any more. They are usually nice horses, but 2 years old and un broke types.
