Cind - I googled piebald deer and found the picture, actually there is something on SNOPES about it. The deer wasn't taken in WI as the picture said but Texas... Yeah Wisconsin / Texas easy to confuse the two???
Wazine... so how do I mix this for my 7 hens? just make a one gallon mixture and give it to them for one day? How long do we wait before we eat the eggs and then I have to do some secondary treatment?
Big question I have an Americana she is probably 7 months old and has been laying regularly for almost 3-4 weeks 3-5 eggs a week all of a sudden 8 days have passed and no blue eggs? The others she is with Barred Rock and Java are continuing to lay, but as my flock was devastated with Infectious Bronchitis last April and the state poultry vets assured me the virus was not viable after 4 weeks I am skeeredAnyone have any other ideas?
WAZINE - 1 oz. To 1 gallon of water. Remove all water the night before then next morning put out ONLY the wazine water and leave out til the next morning. I put pro biotics in their water the next day to help restore balance. I also give any that showed worms extra protein to help them rebuild damaged tissue (refer to my yucky pic) and any blood loss.
EGG TOSSING - jury is out on that one since no study was ever done. The standard educated guess is toss eggs for 7 to 10 days.
IF ANY ROUND WORMS ARE FOUND - then dose again in 10 days but NOT with Wazine. Wazine only kills adult round worms. To destroy the oocysts and other forms of parasites, you need to give a broad spectrum wormer such as fendbendazole. Personally I prefer to use Valbazen because of it's effectiveness against the pre-adult stages of the round worms and other parasites. Another 7 to 10 days of egg tossing.
the reason for the Wazine first is if there is a large infestation, killing all the parasites at once could cause a blockage in the gut that would kill your bird. Wazine only kills the adult round worms, then you give the next one to kill the newly hatched out round worms and anything else. Round worms aren't the only parasite they can get, just the largest and most common. If you have been following my posts you've seen the damage they can do.
TOSSED.EGGS - I scramble mine and feed some of them back to the girls to up their protein.
