Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hi everyone im new and I just want to say hello

Hello and welcome!
Quote: Baby is on eggs again..I did not even try to break her. I just took the eggs out of the incubator and gave them to her. I tried and tried to break She Na Na and she just layed where ever I put her for weeks until I just gave her chicks. She has lost all but 5 to the Hawks..she is not very good with her chicks as far as protection. Her first time she went in the woods with 7 and came back with 1.

Oh vicki! Do they have names?! Next we'll hear of them living in the house! Lol
Angel hatched turkeys last time. We did not think it through. Persilla stole them all from her. Will you allow her to have food and water in the coop? I was excited to have mine outdoors for the winter. It has saved on the mess sooo much this summer. And my spoiled chickies would have to leave the coop lol

Cc if I would known of the hatch you had last year! WOW

Denimandlace, what happened to that homework? ;-)

Sorry for the delay in answering, I been having some computer issues lately.

I grew up in Northern Wi, hubs grew up near Milwaukee. We met at college in Platteville, lived in Jefferson when I worked in Milwaukee and hubs worked in Madison. Moved to Eau Claire and from there moved to Cheyenne, WY. We are now moving back to the Green Bay area.

No chickens yet, the HOA here doesn't allow them. You would think that as HOA president, I would be able to get the rules changed, but I can't even get people to show for annual meetings.

in my house? ha ha..never again

I do not feed and water in my coops..if they want food and drink they need to get out!! ...lol
This is not true for my brooders. Those chicks are fed and watered indoors..same with isolation birds. Stink to high heaven and cleaning is constant and a pain in the ..you know what.

It is so much easier to grab a bucket and a puddy knife and a minute later have the poop boards cleaned off from the night. No waterers dumped over, no food to feed mice and grow bad molds from the moisture from the dumped over waterers.

Have you hatched out any BLRW?

I have decided to post along with reading...I have things to say that I KNOW I wont remember!

CS--I know that Vicky is looking for a cat...I am thinking that she will take the calico. I have conditions though! If she ends up coming here to pick up the cat after it is spayed, I will send squash home with her so she can give you some. Did you want the #75 or the #50 Hubbard?

They're doing it AGAIN!

OK Sandy--I was kinda right that it was you with the Sea green (blue) Hubbards. How in the world did you end up with ONLY THREE???? I only planted ONE hill (10 seeds) and I ended up with #1500!!!! I think we should trade some seeds!

Speaking of squash...KristiP--I was just at Piggly Wiggly tonight and they have spaghetti squash (and others) for .69/lb. You could always go and get it at a store...I think it is local anyhow.

[CC: With my help we can really over run Terri in roos

]

Yeah, let's not....Terri is already over run with roos! I just had my friend drop of that Ameraucana today....he actually is a pretty nice looking bird! (although has no tail to speak of!)

Beginning of December looks good for me to meet again! That store is open all year round right? I want to go and look there again! It has such neat stuff for sale!

JJ---you will NOT get off that easily! We want words and explanations....OK no words necessary for Lyd's haircut! IT IS ADORABLE! I always disliked long hair on littles that cant take care of it themselves anyhow! Great job on that coop! It has chicken wire for the floor? But is sets down on the ground then right? Is that a bat house at the peak? See? we need words! (OK--I do!)

Welcome Fuxzi...I must confess...when I first read your name I was wondering if you were a genuine person!

So I read some of your threads...I have ducks for sale here in Lake Mills!

Ahhhh--there's CC banging her head again...some things never change!

WYO--glad to have you back in the state! I am only 5 miles from Jefferson here. You will have LOTS of neighbors up in the Green Bay area! I am sure any one of them can help you get some chickens!

Well, that was much easier than trying to remember what I wanted to say! Easy Peasy! Now I have to sign off and find out where this awful smell is coming from! It smells kind of like a dead mouse or maybe leaking gas or sauerkraut....Hmmmm. I have no idea where to start! LOL!

Good night all--TerriO
