Great pic! I wonder if she is wearing a bed sheet or a gown? LOL!
Good morning to all--Fuxi, yes all of us that have chickens (and hatch them too) have way more roos than we care to admit! Also all of our friends have our extras that were "too pretty," "too tame," "too valuable," etc to butcher! THe fact is, there are WAY too many roos around and always will be if we continue to hatch! See, the same thing happens with unfixed dogs, cats and horses....the good part about chickens is that we eat them! I say if your Dad is planning on taking care of them and putting them in the freezer let him do it. They really are delicious!
The beagle is snoring on her bed on the couch! She snores almost as loud and DH.
Having my second cuppa and then I have to get outside and take care of the animals. I have to work at 11 and then the foster girls are coming here to spend the day with me. Lots to do!

You can just add the peels and cores..you have added ACV so that will kick start it. You are all good! I use glass because of the boiling water and leaching plastic is something I try to avoid if i can. Since you have already started using plastic..keep on using it and just skip the boiling water.Cindllady..... cute cartoon !!! How appropriate since the topic of the day was roosters. Yep we all know what having to many roosters is like.... only some of us don't send them to camp
Well I got one 3 gallon of apples peeled, and cooked down for the most part. Putting them outside til tomorrow. I just couldn't stand any longer today. My good hip, well actually it isn't good but the hip on my leg side is really starting to hurt. Geez talk about the toilet paper unrolling fast !!!
So anyway, I have one more 3 gallon bucket of apples and 2 big bushel baskets full. The apples I cooked today didn't have to much flavor, might have to add sugar to the applesauce. Does anyone know if you can add splenda ?? Or half Splenda and half real sugar ? Brown Sugar? What about cinnamon ? Geez I'm bad, must not have paid attention to anything when I was young and single..... to interested in men !!! Glad that phase has passed !!! LOL
Cuties, that is such a cute story !! A memory you and your family will cherish forever ! I love the truck part !!!! LOL That is going to be one spoiled mini ! He is a mini right ? Or a pony ? Cutier then Sh!T that is for sure !!
Delish, I totally forgot your recipe for the ACV and I ended putting the peels in a huge jug (plastic) that we got from a restaurant. It had vegetable oil in it. Took me forever to get the oil film out of it. Then I put the peels in it and covered them with water and then put half of a small bottle of ACV with the Mother in it. So what do ya think ? Tomorrow when I peel some more apples should I add the peels and the hot sugar water ? Or start a new batch. This jug is at least 2 maybe 3 gallons. I do have some half gallon mason jars I could put it in but I thought these just would work out good unless they might leach something ?
Cindlady.... I don't think I am going to go back and read hundreds of posts so I you don't mind filling me in on your son ???? Sounds like he was in the hospital ? (((Hugs))) to you and him !!! Ah what the heck,,,, a (((hug))) for your hubby too !!! LOL

Wow 13 yrs old..... I think the woman that lived here before us had some old Roosters !!! Isn't that comforting for all of us with extra Roo's to know they can live that long !!!! And to think Poor hens get butchered at a year or two !!!! Shaking my head !!

Well, I didn't to sleep til way after 3am. ET woke up at 7:30am. I was awake for a while but then before I knew it the second time I woke up was 12:19PM Geez !!!
Still have done nothing !! Where does the time go..... Ah that TP rolling spinning faster and faster !!
Ah, I don't know about ET. He managed to back the tractor up (when it was running which is miracle in itself) and bend the shaft of the post hole digger. TG I had told him to take the auger off but he managed to ruin it anyway. So finally (months later) got a piece of metal bar. The neighbor welded it but yesterday had to pic up some U joints at FF. Turns out he got the wrong size !!!! So off he went on another 65mile round trip to FF.
I got my pony saddle in the mail the other day. A bit disappointed. It was adverted as a 10". Measured it last night and it's a 12 inch. I can still use it but it is the principle of the thing. Then I thought it was agreed $15 for shipping. Now the woman wants the extra $7.25 that it cost to ship it.
My neighbor emailed me today. She is bringing two horses all the way down to Indiana to a sale on the 31st. The Morgan she knew I was interested in and a Saddle bred Mare. I GIVE UP !! I'm fed up trying to help her !!!

Oh and wonderful news in the neighborhood. Someone shot and killed the neighbors cow. Shot in the belly. Also come to find out that her son's dog that supposedly was run over by the UPS truck actually was found behind their house with it's skull smashed in, supposedly by the other neighbors son who has issues (obviously) and they are suspecting him in the shooting of the cow. And I guess a few years ago they had a horse that they think he killed.
A few weeks ago ET heard shooting across the road and then found three dead turkeys. Called the neighbor and no one was suppose to have permission to hunt there. Spotted a truck that the 14 and 15 yr old neighbor drive around in. They were poaching. ET was stupid enough to go in the woods and ask who was there, telling them it was 'Chuck'..... I later told him.... don't ever ever ever do that again. At the time I didn't know about the kid and the dead cow, puppy and horse. I told ET we need to remain neutral with the family feud that is going on or our animals may end up to be targets. Yep, the kid is a relative !! Family Feud has been going on for years and now is between the young kids. YEP I live Kentuck land !!!
So now that I gave ya all something to read I have to go make some more applesauce !!! Oh....what's the advice for adding sugar or splenda ???? TG we borrowed the neighbors (the other neighbor) apple peeler. I couldn't find mine (TO you aren't the only one missing things) Makes things a lot easier not to mention quicker !!

Kids randomly killing animals is not a good thing. That's a sign of some major psychological issues. That kid needs help.
Ok...just curious...were any of you at vilas zoo in Madison at the trick or treat event there...saw a car with a byc bumper sticker...didn't know they had them. It was a crazy mess and per normal... Ds could not stand in line well...because it was a madhouse...the line was almost an hour long to just get to the first spot for candy...then you had to wait in line and snake around. Yikes. But we went with some friends so it was nice. Lots of seven year olds running around. Cool thing was that we were taking pics of the kids in costumes and the zoo photographer took some shots too and said they were good enough to be on their web page!

Otherwise busy stuff with kids. Cleaning day until noon when early release and both kids have friends overs will be crazy, but better than staring at mom and depending on me to do it all.

Hi all---man I agree with BBP--that kids needs help NOW before he kills a person! I cant stand that when kids kill stuff for fun.
Just got back from taking the foster girls back to their foster Mom. They thought it was cool that I am being a foster mom to a dog. They were certainly more challenging today than they have been in the past. They must be getting comfortable in their situation.
I stopped at Menards to get some dog food...sheesh, didnt I just do that two weeks ago? I guess 40# doesnt go too far with 5 dogs!
Today DH unloaded the hay off of the trailer that I got for free. He put it in the wrong place in the barn....I guess I can be happy cause it's IN the barn...he also moved the pile of wood chips out of the driveway down to the dooryard where I have to spread it out to cover the mud and make it "walkable" again. It is so slippery when dragging a hose....

Slow reading around here these days. Where is everyone ? Well I got the apple sauce from the 3 gallon pail done. Geez I don't know how some of you guys get all that canning done. Turns out I had to rewash my jars. For some reason they came out of the dishwasher with soap still on them and I ran it three times !!!
I think the dial might be messed up? Plus does anyone know how in the heck that dial works to put in the rinse stuff ? I pulled it out then there is an arrow ??? turn it both ways and doesn't make a difference on how much rinse it takes ? Gad I'm loosing it lately !!! Well actually for a long time now !! LOL
Sounds like Julie had a nice turnout and fun at her benefit last night. Wish we could have gone but it was to far to go. Just to much going on around here. The neighbor got the shaft welded on the tractor but now that that is fixed the FR!CKIN tractor won't start.... AGAIN !! Needs new points but FF doesn't carry them because it is not a farm tractor. It is a construction tractor !!! Guess I'll have to pay big bucks at the Case Dealer.
Think I am going to take my sleeping pill early tonight. I have to start giving into the night !!! Dang.....easier said then done.
Darn ET, he keeps falling asleep in his chair in the livingroom. He got his new Cpap but it ain't going to work if he doesn't use it !!!
I don't know what I would do without him but I sure as h3ll don't know what i'm going to do with thim either !!LOL
TO Foster my @ss !! You're goint to keep that dog and you know it !!! You're just trying to pull the wool over DH eyes right ? LOL
Ok, well that's it for now... Don't want to take up a whole page !! Oh except to give an update on Cali my new Poodle mix from California. She is doing great ! She is about a year old and has befriended the kitty we got last year who is also a yr old. Cali is almost the perfect dog. The only thing she won't do is come I the house with you. I have to actually prop the outside door open then stand behind the inside door and then she will come in. It took them 3 weeks to catch her on the streets and I'm sure they tried to trap her. She obviously is very street smart !! She's gained quite a bit of weight too. She is also very jealous of the attention you give the other dogs. She'll barge right in and get in your face to steal the attention away !! We love her and she loves us too now !!

Wow where is everyone ? Are the Packers still on or something ? LOL That is the best time to shop too, when they are playing. I feel like the stores are open just for me !! Great time to shop and avoid the crowds. Last week I was the only one in Tractor Supply while they were on !!
