Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Joe wants to quit..He is not ready. He did say he will not smoke in the house..I am grateful for that. I think if he stops smoking in the house it will help him at least slow down. He smokes more than I do if that is possible. He always has something hanging out of his mouth..

He is yelling at the TV and I am finally caught up on shoveling. ...

I am gearing up for no smoking..holidays and smoke free..I should be pleasant to be around..

Ha! Get him a bag of lollies for inside use.

Hi again---still havent been outside...OTP with my obnoxious friend that talks and talks and talks and I dont have to say ANYTHING! (which you all know kills me!)

I think Bittersweet has underground runners and that is how it travels...it kind of reminds me of Trumpet Vine that way. You need to get a female plant then you can sell it in your store. It is very expensive when you buy it in a shop! Free inventory!

I had something else to say but that phone call just about did me in! I am headed out now before it rings again!
I will say that it is gorgeous out there and I wish there was someone near who could pop over for a nice winter horse ride! It is just no fun going by yourself!

Have a good one! TerriO

Chickie scratch....we get my mom and her boyfriend(of 25 years) gas and grocery cards....at 75 and 85... They have what they need otherwise. Crossword puzzles, warm clothes and books round out gifts for them from our family.

Just finished cookies with four kids...my nephews are wild and g my son riled up and ignore my daughter...so we have a lot of buffering in there. Off to work tomorrow and my sist in law is watching all four...she offered!!! Then big family dinner tomorrow night here, Christmas Eve with appetizer and fondue for diner with a big crowd here and then Christmas Day here with just my mom and her boyfriend. Will be ready to do nothing on Thursday!!!

Happy holidays everyone...yes I am in HR...I say holidays...can't help it

Made two batches of peanut brittle today.... yummy! I even managed to get out and take some pics of the fresh snow.

Dinner tonight was superb! I took a boneless pork roast and put it in an Apple Cider brine overnight, seasoned with season salt and thyme, and roasted it to a perfect 155.... oh my goodness! The flavor was amazing, the hint of apple with the salty pork was wonderful! I dished up homemade applesauce, mashed potatoes and of course made some gravy. Cooked up some green beans and the DH decided to add some homemade kraut to the mix. I am stuffed silly....

Deli good luck! I never let my DH smoke in the house so that has not been an issue. He is not supposed to smoke in the vehicles either but he does anyway.....

Tomorrow another run-run-run day....... get it all over with before Christmas!

Hi All!

Funny someone mentioned Chilli! Just got a pot started for tomorrow's supper. Always seems like it's better when it sets overnight and reheated.

The only tracks in the snow my birds have made is a figure 8 the turkeys did, and that was only about 8ft. long! There were some chicken tracks about 6" from the coop door LOL. Geez, it was even shoveled! Guess that little bit that fell after was just too much for them ...... what chickens!

I have no sound on this computer (I need a new sound card I guess) so I didn't hear the video.

Good morni g :)
Nice video bigz. Sweet girl ti help out so much for the fam. Widh more kids had that ethic now days!

Del, that cake has me drooling.

Hope you all have holiday preparations taken care of!! I have wrapping to do.

Chickens no longer leave the coop. We lost a red. I am worried it is because they were not coming out to drink. So I gave in. And water in the coop now. Man those ducks are messy!! Weve separated some to breeding pens. We will se if we finally see some of that $ back this spring!
Will be fun for the kids to raise their own stock for 4-h this year.
Terri, cute pup pics!

good morning,, still snowing lightly here,, as long as it keeps up it adds up.. about 4 inches since yesterday ..

since I moved the geese out of the guinea coop, the 5 gallons of water has lasted up to it's
third day .. the chickens go through about two 5 gallons per day..
I give the geese 3 gallons, outside, in a pan,, it lasts 15 minutes, tops .. I really do have to find a short piece of hose so i can fill up the gooses' bath tub .. the white Sebs look gray ..

I have to make a trip to Marathon for some ground feed.. maybe try out the new section of cth O..

I wonder what happened to Frenchie, Judge, and all of those others ? Oh well, people come and go on here.. It's been happening for years..

I am already tired of shoveling..

Casha is doing so much better and she has learned to hop around using her two back legs like one leg. This morning she did not slow me down in doing chores at all. I cleaned out all the nest boxes and put in fresh chips and straw and it is keeping all the hens busy this morning. The boys like those new fresh nests too..all the cooing from them is so cute.

Eggs are picking up and I already got 4 eggs nice and warm and freshly layed this morning. I am cleaning out the hatching room this morning and setting up in preparation for new chicks in 6 weeks or so. The black Orpington is checking out the nest box so she might be kicking the chicks to the curb. Those chicks are 12 weeks old.

Good morning to all! Snowing here too Jim...I am not feeling well this morning. Dh brought his cold home with him from MS. I was hoping he would be better before he got back...no such luck--he is better now, he gave it to me! I guess I need to go to the store to give it to someone else so I can be well for Christmas! Actually I wouldnt be too sad to have to stay home....LOL! His brother and sisters' families are a bit much...I do like my SIL though. We will see...if it runs the same as DH's did I will be pretty bad by the Eve.

Gotta head out now and do chores...Cind I might just have to make chili tonight now that two of you have made it. Hmmm--I do have some venison in the freezer....
Oh yeah--I think I forgot to mention...I made that wild turkey in the brine (brined for two days) and we had some of the chilled breast meat on wraps last night for dinner...OMG it was still Juicy! Someone said that the dark meat would be too tough...it's not! It has a really nice taste too. I am deboning it for some turkey salad I think. SO GOOD! I am glad I didnt toss it.

OK I am gone....TerriO

Snowy Morning All...just finished cleaning up the snow after the plow went through. Gonna be a long winter it's lookin like.

Congrats on the wild turkey success TO...yep the legs and thighs make wonderful soup too. We never waste the wonderful meat. Some folks just can't cook wild game the right way...what a shame to waste perfectly good meat...in my opinion. Waste not, Want not.

Thanks to da bears we are still alive to make the playoffs. They really were spanked by the running game....hope we can do the same to them next week. We were so close to a win...gulldarnit.

Below 0 again tonight...is it Spring yet?

Stay Safe...bigz
