I got shipped eggs from Missouri (9 of them 4 viable) and florida (19 of them 15 viable). last batch was all from Oregon, so thought i'd try a different area this time.... keeping my fingers crossed.

Aw miss, those are cute :)
Bigz, did you ever get the snow cleared? Lol
Jim, I will say a little prayer for you that day.
Decent hatch here :) 9 blue Andalusia, 6 blue laced red wyandotte, and 1 silver laced wyandotte! And I set more eggs last night! Lol
Del, no single comb this time around! Must have been blackie :-( he is in the pen now. I want to redoo just to be sure. For now I am marking the eggs with a ? Because idk if sauce or blackie will be daddy. How long before I can be sure. I waited 4 weeks before. Is that sufficient? Or cohld I go less?

Nice hatch! Pictures please!!!

thanks for the info jim. right now I will sit tight with my two dogs, guess see what happens, I had been looking into Great Pyranese or something like this for protection tho and really liked what I read about the maremma. do you think you will breed your dogs again? I know I am not ready for a puppy right now, but perhaps next litter might be. thank you again for all the useful information.

So when did they change this? It has been my understanding that since we are Wisconsin tested flock, my kids are able to show at fair and other shows in WI and can sell chicks and eggs as well. We just can't go to shows, sell chicks or eggs outside of WI because of we aren't NPIP. Guess one more thing to check on with my tester

been super busy again and not much time for anything else......

have to get another round of eggs into the incubator today...we are already several days behind.

Bizo- Congrats on the 7 years!

Jim- we'll keep our fingers crossed that all goes well for you!

I did not know it was any other way..
I think the need for premises code and inspection for any sales of any live stock has been on the WI books for a very long time. V-S 9-3's have to be turned in monthly.(eggs sales and bird sales)

yeah, we have the premises code- forgot about that, guess I will check to make sure we have everything we need

so trying not to count my chickens before they hatch, but after they do hatch and I finally am a silkie flock owner how soon do I need to get npip and such? and just contact the state to get it done or would my local vet know who to get in touch with? and fees associated with this? I found $80.00 for npip and this is yearly? any other costs?

thanks!
