Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

good morning, people are finally waking up.. I have been here since before 7AM.. Played Free Cell until my eyes crossed..

my cuppa is tepid, at best..

I have to get some pictures of the puppies.. they are really growing fast.. some of them are sampling the dog food and drinking water out of the dish.. Dora looks so relieved when they do that.
she is not as patient with this batch as she was with her last batch.. not so much unlike a human mother after a couple of kids ..

Someone finally got past my line of questioning and is coming to look at our gelding today! I'm hoping they click. I have one other person interested that has asked all the right questions, given me good answers to mine and has passed the Facebook stalking test. So maybe he'll have a new home by spring. I've been getting beautiful hay brought in from Canada for my horses and they get a daily ration of Purina equine Senior. I just noticed yesterday that all 3 of them have gained quite a bit of weight.
The daughter if one of my coworkers went out to Wyoming to purchase a TB stud. When she got there he had no food or water, and looked deathly thin. I saw a picture. I can't believe that horse is alive. I guess he was a very expensive, well bred horse. It's scary what people do to these poor things. She felt guilty for not getting him out of there, so she's driving all the way back out there this weekend to get him.

Hatch day today! One chick is out, 2 others pipped through. The one out is peeping up a storm. My kiddos are so excited. Guess we won't be doing anything else today, can't drag kids away from the bator.

The end of the week ended a little crazy for us... our hot tub, that sits on our back deck caught fire.. We are very thankful for the cement siding and the fire fighters were also impressed, it was their first experience with how cement siding holds up against a very hot fire. We have broken windows, a melted cap on our LP regulator (which was less than 3 feet from the fire - luckily the wind wasn't blowing toward it), cracked siding, a burnt deck, of course no more hot tub and 2nd degree burns on my DH hand. The fire was hot enough to melt through an aluminum bar. Thanks goodness for all the snow that was sitting on our main deck...only the posts were burnt.

Here's a couple of pictures...
