Ouch! So sorry to hear about your bumpy ride, Terri. I hope you're feeling better soon. How is Tommy doing? I had the same idea as Cindy: VetRx. Or Vicki's oxine idea sounds like a good one too. I hope you both, and Cindy too, are all feeling better real soon.
Jim! You've got an avatar. Will wonders never cease.
DH took advantage of the weather and shoveled out the poopsicles like many of you did. The fresh woodchips were very much appreciated. Haven't been getting too many eggs the past few days.
Zeke! I'm one of the late nighters. What are you doin up yet?
Evening all. Work is going well at the moment and the lab/office pack up is under way. I'm going to an EXPO for soccer this entire weekend (Fri-Mon)mostly by myself. The family will come over night on Saturday.
Chickens are highly productive today. I've been told we got 6 eggs today. If that's true all of them laid today or someone laid more than their share.
DD13 & 11 had a spaghetti dinner for a band fund raiser tonight. We were there from 5-9, serving food, listening to the band play, and cooking/cleaning.
I'm pooped and heading to bed in a bit.
Lady from the horse barn emailed to see if we'd be helping again this spring.Yes we are and I scheduled our days/time.DD13 loves horses and since I'm not buying one,I found this place ladt year and she lives it. Who knew a 13yr old would love shoveling sh*t.
So I think that is my update for the day, night all!
Just thought I would ask you guys, are any of you WI people planing on going to the NPIP seminar on april 10th in stevens point I just signed up for it.
TO.... Wow.... bummer of a ride! I know what you mean about cars and horses! A cousin got hurt real bad when someone honked behind the horse she was on. From what I understand the horse threw her onto the car that honked and the car was still moving!
Thanks for the well wishes! Getting better but feel bad that I didn't feel good enough to clean coops.
I'm going to make some potato/leek soup for supper. That and a sandwich should be good for the cr@ppy day coming!
Cind-my sarcastic suggestion for health might be to , I don't know...maybe, get to bed earlier? I'd be dead energy wise and so on if I stayed up as late as you!
Good morning...good idea to stay home Jim! I have to head to Madison but will wait until noon to go. I have to pick up the foster dog that had her heartworm treatment. Now she needs to rest--good luck with this batch! Sure was quiet without her though! Then I get to go to work for 3 hours...I am hoping the weather is OK for driving there.
I tried the Vet Rx on Tommy first thing...it didnt seem to help. I am trying to find a cool mist humidifier to use with the Oxine right now. I thought I had one around here but I cant seem to find it--guess I might find one at St Vinnie's.
I am not too bruised this morning. I feel like I was stepped on by a horse though...gee, I was. My cheek bone and my calf hurt the most...I sure like my horses but I wish I could STOP getting hurt by them! I am getting too old for this!
OK--I need to get outside and see how bad the ice is...work to be done. At least I got some birds moved into larger (and cleaner) quarters yesterday! They will be happier I think.
Hey Amy...that duck I got from you lays the bluest egg I have ever seen from a duck! It is really pretty...I hope I can hatch some!
I am looking for 6 female Buckeye chicks this spring. I am located in Sugar Creek, WI (basically Elkhorn), southeastern Wisconsin. Is there anyone here that could help me out or direct me to someone who could?
