Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Cind, that happened in the town I went to HS in. The Liquor store caught fire due to faulty wiring, and of course right next door was the vets office. So much flammable material in one area, I believe downtown lost 7 buildings. The miraculous part was all of those businesses had apartments above them, and nobody was killed. Downtown looks a little odd with a newer strip mall type building in place of the old, on the bright side they did not leave a giant hole in the landscape.

Nice to see you pop in Jim, the DH would tell you to take the Blazer and skip the Jeep. Our Cherokee Sport has has electrical issues, and it is a 2002.

Kids are off at Post Prom party so mom will be up for a bit yet.
I have a Blazer now,, tranny trouble.. I am leaning toward the 97 Blazer.. I had Jeep Wagoneers and Cherokee years ago.. they were notorious for front Universal joints breaking.. I replaced 3 sets of them .. these were 1985 era .. also those were full time 4WD..I ran out of gas on an icy road one time.. did a 360* because everything stopped when the motor stopped..

I had a plow on the Cherokee,, loved it.. could turn on a dime.. and visibility was good for backing up..

I had a Dodge with electrical problems.. cost $800.oo to clear it all up.. the guy who had it before me spent $400,oo on the electrical, too.. Dodges were loaded with inline fuses.. the fix was cheap, diagnostic and tracing circuits was the costly part ..

I think I will keep my '95 blazer around for awhile,, It has a new motor and a whole new front end on it.. maybe the parts are interchangeable .. just in case I need them,,

As long as I would have the parts, then I would probably never need them,, cheap insurance..

Everyone was gone for the day, no apartments in that Building, not sure about the little one next to it. Not sure what was in that one at all, it was one of those little shops that kept changing every few years. I think no one was hurt. I'm wondering how the restaurant on the corner fared.(Flippy"s) my son gets food there a couple times a month because they deliver. It was very lucky that the bank next door (to the other side) had a drive thrugh between. It could have become allot worse. People on FB are hoping they can at least save the outside of the building and build up the inside again. Problem is, it's a very old building.

I wouldn't hold much hope for saving the old buildings.. that head does the mortar no good.
and besides, nowadays hardly anybody saves any old building.. easier to tear it down and build new..

what town was this fire in ?

Nice to read ya Jim.
Welcome to the newbies!!!!
Now if Terri would pop in.....
I am worried about the hatch going now. I keep staring into that tiny window! Hubby is busy boiling the sap.
Clark, congrats on the hatch! How many are you up to?
I know somebody else was doing a hatch now too. Hows that one going?

I was supposed to be working on a hatch :-(. I had won a swap for some cream legbars 2 weeks ago, but no luck with getting them shipped from the swapper and then I've been bidding on gold laced Orpington eggs, but keep getting out bid.

I need eggs!!! I've been collecting EExBCM eggs for 2 weeks now, but I want to add either the CCL or GLO to my flock before I start. Some of those OE eggs are getting pretty old.

First time swapper. Not sure if it's worth getting your hopes up for nothing.

.got my new glasses, cant' see sh!t with them.. Monday I am taking them back.. I think they ground the lenses wrong .. Lens Crafters ,, Bah, humbug ..

..........jiminwisc..........

I had the same thing happen w/ Eye-mart. They were so bad I could not drive home. I Got sick to my stomach, and had to pull over after wearing them for only a few minutes.

Trying to catch up after spend a couple of days running around and getting things done. Still not all done. Was in a slip and slide car accident on Friday. Husband was driving. my car is totalled. Stupid On demand 4 wheel drive kicked in and the front was fighting the back for control and we ended up in a ditch. Had been flipped over onto our side but when we hit the snow bank it righted itself. Insurance company said to start looking for a new vehicle.
Nobody was hurt. Banged up and sore, but otherwise ok. Old injuries are achy. They gave my husband a cat scan and now he has to get a follow up with the doctor. Something with his thyroid. So the accident may have been a good thing. Just tired.

Fernie, glad you and your DH are ok! Ouch!

Jim, DH is replacing the U-joints on the Jeep asap. Both the front ones are shot. He has been messing with the electrical issues for a while now, trying to pinpoint the issue but so far he has not been 100% successful.

Beautiful day today! Looking forward to WARM!!! (Well, warmer anyway......)
