Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hi ALL!

Hey... I think I'm coming down with the flue! Got that flue body ache

Hope it's just the weather.

Keri... PM me... don't feel well enough to write right now.

Night All!

Hopefully it's just the weather or the fact it's finally spring and everyone is getting out doing things they didn't all winter long!! I woke up around 1am with my knees killing me, but then again, I took a mile and a half walk at lunch yesterday. I hope you feel better soon!

Rainy morning all. And hope you feel better soon CL!

Not much new here besides that after we finally had a solid driveway now we're sliding all over again. Dang clay grounds!

Of course our pond is still in full size also, which a pair of mallards makes their swim grounds every other day. Sometimes they even come up to our duck coop and say hello to our duckies. So cute to watch!

Ducklings are all doing fine and growing like weeds, 3 of 6 pheasant eggs in the hatcher piped and the chicks and other pheasant babies do great also.

Now just back to the every day routine of feeding, watering, spoiling all of our critters and getting ready (and emotionally prepared) for all the cuteness at the animal swap tomorrow in Ladysmith. Anyone of you gonna be there too?

bl4-I know you didn't cut the hair, the horse was just angled different in the picture so that the mane was on the other side. Just giving you a hard time.

Good news, I slept through the night. No barking.

I walked around with Theo again and left only the garage light on this time, but I also left open the gate to the backyard for him to roam more.

Hi all

and happy early Mom's Day to all. I figure even those of us w/o kids have our critters to "mother" that must count for something.

H&R = Well wishes for your Father's speedy recovery.

1876 = did you try a different browser? I think Firefox interacts a bit better than Internet Explorer with this site.

Been quite busy around here with roof work, gardens, and brooder prep. Monday we picked up our dozen Black Australorps and later that afternoon Kristip brought over the four RIR's she hatched. The timing was perfect all chickies are mingling nicely. We have the brooder in the solarium for the first few weeks. Rod plans to segregate part of the big coop so we can move them out there where they and the big girls can get to know each other . . . safely.

Best of both worlds-we can have the brooder inside to keep a close eye on things, but not in the main house keeping the mess out.

A dozen BA pullets

with the addition of four RIR's

CS, if I could have trimmed him up a bit I would have. He had so much hair in that fluffy forelock it would get in his way. :D It was a lot of fun to be around horses again, I had forgotten how much I enjoy them..... so much so I was thinking I would be better off giving up on ever owning one; not anymore! I need some riding lessons pronto!

Passed my Six Sigma fundamentals course

, now I need to decide if I want to take the Applications class......

The White Bass are running up the Wolf...... might have to go fishing this afternoon......

I hope your dad get well soon..

love all the new chick pictures..
Keep them coming!!

I am so busy i am not taking time for picture taking. I need to do an update of cookie..She is almost as large as the Labrador(Buddy) now..
She will be a nice size.

I take cookie for walks around the property every night after she eats. She is out with the chickens every night.... I am out there with them till the chickens go to bed. Most go to bed as soon as she is let out..they do not trust her anymore. ..Me either. .....She is now always supervised. If i need to go in, she gets locked up in her run...Some of the chickens do fly in her run ..so far she is good with those two chickens.

I have a dozen Silver laced hatching out..I will be shipping them Monday..

Thank you all for the encouraging words. Still trying to find a home for my little flock. Fox has been by 3 times today and once last night around 3am. She is relentless! I thought fox were supposed to be shy and skiddish... not this girl, she is smart. Too smart :( Enjoy the sun and warm temps, it feels great!
